Background / History
Ye Yizhou is the youngest son of Ye Chongli and Lu Qingwan, and Ye Jing'an’s younger brother. His family remembers him as a soft, doll-like child who later became a formidable troublemaker. Although he initially dismisses questions about childhood bullying, he eventually admits that other children once tried to bully him and an older boy drove them away. His childhood encounter with Yan Qingdu later became the reason he wanted to know him better 13 112 124 136.
In high school, Ye Yizhou had a fierce, aloof reputation but protected others from bullying. He rescued Jiang Zhengze from abuse in a restroom and prevented his attackers from continuing to target him. After graduation, he founded the Anti-Bullying Fund Association, which provides victims with legal assistance, counseling, and support to continue their education. Many of its members are people he previously helped 114 117 123.
Ye Yizhou entered the entertainment industry two years before the opening chapter. His family allowed him to pursue show business partly because they expected its hardships to send him home to inherit the family business. Instead, he deliberately adopted a sweet, airheaded public persona after researching audience preferences online. The persona earned him extensive recognition, much of it negative, without paid marketing or reputation management 1 16 45 46.
Appearance
Ye Yizhou has a delicate, porcelain-white face, long, narrow eyes, and a sweet, alluring smile. His expressions are frequently compared to those of a sly fox or a proud little cat 1 3 7 11.
- Pointed canines: He deliberately displays them while joking that he is a vampire 25.
- Slender hands: His fingers receive particular attention during conference scenes and his bandaged escape-room appearance 33 56.
- Relaxed formalwear: Even in a suit, a loose tie and an undone collar button give him a defiant rather than strictly formal appearance 38.
Personality
Ye Yizhou is mischievous, theatrical, and skilled at presenting himself as harmless. He switches easily between teasing arrogance, exaggerated innocence, and convincing distress. At home, he uses these performances to provoke his father or enlist his mother’s sympathy; even relatives who recognize the act sometimes indulge him 2 6 20.
His apparent laziness coexists with clear ambition. He jokes freely about living off his father or brother and prefers paying capable people to do work rather than doing everything himself. However, he is financially independent, has a strong investment record, and states that he knows what he wants and intends to obtain it. By Chapter 163, he explicitly promises not to abandon the company when difficulties arise 1 31 57 144 154 163.
He openly acknowledges being vindictive. Rather than retaliating immediately, he may let opponents overextend themselves before responding, combining revenge with financial or publicity benefits. That ruthlessness has a protective side: he objects to innocent people being used as stepping stones and becomes unusually angry when Zhou Niansheng is attacked 43 48 98 108.
In romance, Ye Yizhou is affectionate, persistent, and more vulnerable than his banter suggests. Yan Qingdu’s description of their marriage as a partnership hurts him, although he initially hides it. He insists on absolute fidelity and later makes clear that Yan Qingdu is the only person he has ever loved 7 66 136.
