Cheating is cheating, right?

Fuck! How did I not think of something so simple before?!

Lin Ye wanted to slap himself. He had died so many times for nothing over such a simple reason.

Was this what they meant by being too close to see clearly?

Lin Ye explained the risks of entering the cabins to the two of them in detail. After making sure neither would come in and interfere, he entered Corridor 3 alone.

He had barely entered the corridor, before he could even finish checking all the room numbers, when he received a system notification.

[Inspiration triggered: Gugu (this room feels nice)]

Looking at the system notification, Lin Ye said nothing, but he had ten thousand things to say inwardly.

Fuck, without those two variables, I don't even need to know math or solve puzzles. I just need to follow the system notifications to clear this!

So there were no notifications before because every room was a dead end?

No wonder every door I opened led to either a red corridor or a black one!

I was wondering why the cruise ship required a family of three to board. It was to increase the difficulty!

So fucking underhanded!

Lin Ye pushed the door open. Inside was a familiar standard twin room.

He went into the room and came back out. Outside was still an ordinary, dimly lit corridor.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, Lin Ye received another system notification.

[Inspiration triggered: Gugu (this room feels nice)]

My astonishing wisdom could work out the pattern too, but cheating really does feel better. A little cheating doesn't count.

After that, Lin Ye relied on the system notifications, going in and out of rooms. Although he encountered red corridors too, none of the rooms he opened contained any danger.

That continued until Lin Ye opened a door and came across an aqua-blue corridor.

This corridor was exceptionally clean and tidy, without even a speck of dust.

[Inspiration triggered: Gugu (please be polite)]

The corridor had the same layout as the others, with thirty-two rooms. Lin Ye walked around the corridor, then gently knocked on the door at one end.

There was no response. Rather than keep knocking, Lin Ye went to the other end of the corridor and knocked on the door there.

This time, the door soon opened. The room inside was far larger than the previous standard rooms and probably counted as one of the ship's luxury cabins.

The room's occupant was a humanoid creature with skin so white it was somewhat translucent. Her overall appearance resembled a human female, but numerous aqua-blue tentacles grew from her body, and her eyes and hair were aqua-blue too.

"Hello, I'm a passenger who lost his way. Could I borrow your doorway?"

Lin Ye was very polite. It had nothing to do with the system notification; he was simply a civilized person with good manners.

"Come in first. It's rare for us to meet here, and there's still some time before you leave the ship. Sit down and have some tea."

The girl used a tentacle to pull out the seat opposite her, gesturing for Lin Ye to sit.

Lin Ye neither lowered his guard nor became overly wary. He simply sat down across from the girl naturally.

The girl poured Lin Ye a cup of aqua-blue liquid. He took a sip. The tea tasted sweet, and its effects were quite good too. After drinking it, he instantly felt invigorated.

"Is there anything you need me to do?"

Lin Ye got straight to the point. He did not want to waste another simulation attempt.

"Not at the moment, but there probably will be in the future. Your mind doesn't match your body, yet you can still control it so fluidly. I can roughly guess where you come from. I actually count as someone involved too. If you survive, perhaps we'll meet again."

The girl tore a tentacle from her body and handed it to Lin Ye.

"Take this with you. It's a gift."

Lin Ye took the tentacle. It wrapped around his arm like a living creature and felt very soft.

"Thank you. Goodbye."

Lin Ye said nothing more and left the room with the tentacle.

Outside was an ordinary corridor. Lin Ye continued going in and out of rooms with the help of the notifications. Finally, just before the time limit expired, he found room 1904.

"That really wasn't easy."

Lin Ye pushed open the door. Inside was only a standard twin room, but there was a black briefcase on the bed.

"I finally finished the first step."

Lin Ye carefully swapped the briefcases. In his previous simulations, he had never once opened the briefcase. He did not want excessive contact with anything related to the organization.

Exchanging information was a dangerous thing. The exchange began the moment one learned certain information, so the less contact he had, the safer he was.

Holding the briefcase, he opened the door. Outside was not another door, but a dim corridor leading to the deck.

So room 1904 was the exit.

Lin Ye carried the briefcase out of the cabins and left the ship with his two pleasantly surprised companions.

The captain looked at Lin Ye in surprise and carefully took the briefcase.

"That cruise ship stops there every so often. The organization has always wanted to recover this briefcase. Several captains boarded the ship before, but none of them ever got off. After that, the organization only sent D-class personnel to try their luck."

"You can't be that scumbag. He would only force others to scout ahead for him. He wouldn't have the courage to enter the cabins alone. So going into the cabins alone is the key?"

Lin Ye did not answer, only nodded slightly.

"As a member of the organization, I shouldn't feel anything toward an anomalous entity like you. But I must say this: thank you for everything you've done for humanity, even if you may not care about humanity."

The captain saluted Lin Ye, and Lin Ye returned the salute.

He had always been very polite.

[Simulation ended] [Remaining simulation attempts: 7] [Obtained random items that appeared in this event ×7] [Obtained Wei Bai's gift ×1] [Obtained title: Purification]

Lin Ye woke up in bed. The red owl was sleeping beside him, sharing his pillow.

Not long after Lin Ye woke, it woke too.

"Thank you for your help this time."

Lin Ye expressed his sincere gratitude. Although he possessed astonishing wisdom, without the system notifications, he might not have found the correct path before exhausting his simulation attempts.

"Hoot, hoot."

The owl hopped off the bed and went back to helping Lin Ye process materials.

Lin Ye began examining the spoils laid out in the middle of the shelter.

Five of the items were things he had seen before: a loaded handgun, a basic food and water pack, a basic medical kit, a full combat uniform, and a dagger.

This was practically an organization starter kit.

The other two items were:

[Pure Crystal] [A pure crystalline substance produced in the Pure Sea. Can be used to purify any substance] [Note: An extremely precious and rare crystalline substance. Please use as soon as possible after unsealing]

The Pure Crystal was sealed in a long, black metal box the size of a pencil case. The crystal inside could not be seen without opening the box.

"When did I ever come across this thing? Could it be..."

Lin Ye looked at the next item.

[Silkworm Parasite] [Replenish its supply of flesh and blood to harvest fresh silkworms at any time] [Note: If you do not wish to be parasitized, please do not take untreated silkworms outside the shelter]
