Looking at the quivering lump of flesh covered in red fuzz, Lin Ye felt thoroughly unwell.

Although the shelter was absolutely safe, the thought of how his body had been filled with these fuzzy worms in the previous simulation, and how he had failed to notice even after most of his organs had been eaten, made him physically ill.

Harvest fresh silkworms... What use do I have for these things?

"Gugu."

Gugu hopped over to the lump of flesh, picked up a silkworm with his beak, and swallowed it.

"You're saying these things can be processed into high-quality psionic materials? And they can also serve as backup food supplies, and taste delicious?"

Lin Ye had no particular prejudice against them. Blue Star also had plenty of ingredients that looked disgusting but tasted good.

"How should I process them?"

"Gugu."

"That sounds like a lot of trouble, but I can give it a try."

After learning how to process the silkworms from Gugu, Lin Ye looked at the remaining system notifications.

Lin Ye carefully tried to recall it again, but still could not remember anything.

After sorting through his gains, Lin Ye checked the time. There was still a while before the nighttime event, so he decided to go to the Game Room and play cards for a bit.

Talent simulations, nighttime events, Psionic Energy Circulation, studying runes, crafting psionic items... He had too many things to do every day, but strengthening his body through Psionic Energy Circulation was the foundation of everything, so naturally, it took priority.

"I'm going to play cards for a bit. I'll leave the shelter to you."

"Gugu."

There were still only a few survivors in the Game Room. Lin Ye picked a card table at random and began his Psionic Energy Circulation for the day.

With his skill, he could earn a little pocket money even while splitting his attention to circulate psionic energy.

Of course, losing would not matter either. At one Red Coin a game, he could afford to lose all day.

"Wouldn't you like to try some special games?"

Just as Lin Ye was happily enjoying the free psionic energy, the attendant who had given him a room card last time appeared behind him at some point.

"You're too impatient. You gave me a room card last time, and now you're approaching me again. Even an idiot would know something's wrong."

Lin Ye played his joker bomb, leaving only the three of spades in his hand.

The attendant was not angry. A charming smile remained on his face.

"No need. I'd advise you not to keep wasting your time on me. Out of ten billion survivors, you just had to pick someone who doesn't like gambling to make your pitch to."

Lin Ye did not dislike the attendant. After all, he had given him a room card that let him enjoy free psionic energy, so he did not want to waste the attendant's time.

"You're too modest. I've seen many populations of ten billion, but very few people have prompted me to offer them a room card of my own accord. If you ever need help someday, please consider the Game Room."

The attendant did not keep trying to persuade Lin Ye. He had already said everything he needed to say.

Lin Ye understood what the attendant meant, but unless necessary, he would not participate in a gamble set up by someone else.

An hour and a half later, Lin Ye completed two rounds of Psionic Energy Circulation. As his mental power improved and he became more familiar with Psionic Energy Circulation, the time each round took was also decreasing.

Tossing the Red Coins in his hand, Lin Ye returned to the shelter. He had earned another 64 Red Coins this time.

After returning to the shelter, Lin Ye began studying runes and trying to craft new psionic items.

Although the psionic items he was currently making were of little use to him, this was a very useful skill that would come in handy sooner or later.

Under Gugu's guidance, Lin Ye learned some methods for processing psionic materials. This helped greatly with crafting psionic items. At the very least, he no longer had to painstakingly cut the cloak into small pieces.

Evening soon arrived. Lin Ye made a lavish dinner and ate with Gugu.

There was still a little time before the nighttime event, so Lin Ye opened the group chat for some entertainment with his meal.

"According to the expert's speculation, tonight's event might be either a Site Mission or the War Front."

"I think it'll be a Site Mission. The event we haven't seen yet will be saved for last."

"I think so too."

"Site Missions are all right. You can hide and coast your way to a reward, and if you get reliable teammates, you can scavenge some stuff to bring back too."

"True. Last time, I coasted my way to a chest and got a shelter rank-up blueprint from it."

"Me too."

Lin Ye posted the Silkworm Parasite's picture and system description in the group.

"Holy shit! What is that thing? That's disgusting!"

"The expert's up to something again."

"Come on, I'm eating."

"Silkworms? I think I've seen these things before, but I can't remember where."

"They were mentioned in the information the expert gave us before. There are silkworms in the sewers. If the shelter's absolute safety stops working, they'll enter the shelter through the sewers and eat the survivors."

"Huh? They're that scary? Good thing I finished upgrading my shelter."

"Holy shit! I'm still short a few mutation organs!"

"I'm screwed! I haven't even gotten a shelter rank-up blueprint yet!"

"Then aren't people who fail to upgrade their shelters in time doomed? That's way too scary!"

Lin Ye: This is an item I just obtained. These silkworms are quite terrifying, and I haven't found a way to deal with them yet, so you'd better finish your shelter missions as soon as possible.
