Lin Jin stood in the center of People's Square, looking at the blood-red magic circle before him, which had spiraled completely out of control.
At the center of the circle, a massive rift was tearing open, with a suffocating, icy aura surging on the other side.
It was another world.
A Weird Domain.
The rift grew larger and larger, rapidly expanding from a narrow crack into a massive entrance over ten meters in diameter.
Through the entrance, the scene on the other side was visible.
A gloomy sky, blood-red earth, and countless grotesque anomalies roaming and howling, devouring one another.

A true city-destroying level disaster.
A trace of gravity flashed in Lin Jin's eyes.

Just then, the first wave of anomalies surged out of the rift.
Like sharks scenting blood, they poured madly through it.
There were walking corpses rotten all over, ghosts drifting erratically, and crawling monsters with twisted limbs.
E-rank, D-rank, C-rank...
They were packed so densely that their numbers were impossible to count.
The first thing they did upon emerging from the rift was scatter in every direction, searching for living people.
Lin Jin's gaze turned cold.
He formed hand seals.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique."
Poof, poof, poof, poof, poof!
White smoke burst out, and twenty shadow clones appeared at once.
"Clear out the anomalies heading into the city," Lin Jin's original body said evenly. "Leave none alive."
The twenty shadow clones nodded in unison, then all vanished from the spot the next instant.
He looked at the system.

Su Qianxue had only just recovered from the battle at the school in the south of the city when she sensed that terrifying fluctuation.
She looked up and saw the blood moon in the sky, and her face instantly turned pale.
"An S-Rank Weird Domain..."
As an operations team leader in the Paranormal Bureau, she knew all too well what that meant.
It was a city-destroying level disaster.
It was something that required multiple Domain Realm experts to contend with.
Yet the Jiangcheng Paranormal Bureau had only one mid-stage Domain Realm expert: its director, Chen Zhenshan.
She pulled out her communicator and frantically called the command center.
"Command center! Report the situation!"
Chen Mo's panicked voice came through the communicator. "Team leader! Anomaly entrances have appeared all over the city, at least thirty of them! Anomalies are pouring in on a massive scale! We simply don't have enough people!"
Su Qianxue gritted her teeth. "Where's the director?"
"The director has already headed to the nearest entrance, but he's only one person! He can hold off one direction at most!"
Su Qianxue closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened them again, only resolve remained in her gaze.
"Notify everyone capable of fighting. Split into squads and make protecting civilians your first priority." She enunciated every word. "Even if we die fighting, we must hold out until reinforcements arrive."
"Yes!"
Ending the call, Su Qianxue looked at the squad members behind her.
"Follow me."
They rushed toward the nearest anomaly entrance.
In the east of the city, in a residential neighborhood.
An enormous rift hung in the center of the complex, with countless anomalies pouring out.
Screams and sobs came from the apartment buildings.
A Paranormal Bureau squad had already arrived, but there were only five of them. Facing dozens of anomalies swarming out, they could not hold them back at all.
"Captain! There are too many!"
"Hold even if you can't! The apartment buildings are behind us!"
Gritting his teeth, the captain shattered a lunging C-rank anomaly with a punch, but the next second, three more pounced.
Just as they were about to be overwhelmed.
A figure appeared out of thin air.
Short black hair, dark casual clothes, and an indifferent gaze.
Lin Jin's shadow clone.
He struck instantly.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique."
A massive fireball over five meters in diameter erupted from his mouth, instantly engulfing the dozen or so anomalies at the front.
The anomalies did not even have time to scream before the intense heat reduced them to ashes.
Immediately afterward, he flashed forward and charged into the swarm.
Lightning coiled around his right hand, while flames churned in his left.
Every strike killed an anomaly.
The Paranormal Bureau squad stood frozen, watching that figure sweep through as though no one stood in his way.
Three minutes later.
The last anomaly fell.
Lin Jin's shadow clone glanced back at them.
"Guard this place. Keep any more anomalies from coming out."
With that, his figure vanished as he headed to the next location.
In the west of the city, on a shopping street.
A dozen or so anomalies were hunting down fleeing citizens.
Fang Rou led her squad in a desperate effort to intercept them, but she had already been injured, and now she was barely staying on her feet.
"Team leader! You can't keep fighting!"
"Shut up!"
Fang Rou gritted her teeth, and an ice spike pierced a lunging anomaly, but more anomalies had already surrounded her.
Just then.
A figure descended from the sky.
Lin Jin's shadow clone.
The instant he landed, he unleashed ninjutsu.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave."
A fierce vacuum wave swept out, cutting all the dozen or so surrounding anomalies in half at the waist.
Immediately afterward, his eyes turned scarlet.
His Three-Tomoe Sharingan rotated slowly.
The instant those anomalies met his eyes, they all froze in place.
The next second, they began slaughtering one another.
Fang Rou stared at the scene, her eyes wide.
The man who had saved her in front of the old hospital site.
It was him again.
After the anomalies had slaughtered one another to the last, Lin Jin's shadow clone turned to Fang Rou.
"This place is clear. I'm leaving."
With that, his figure vanished as he headed to the next location.
In the south of the city, at a school.
Dozens of students were trapped inside a classroom building, while a dozen or so anomalies outside slammed frantically against the doors.
Several awakened teachers desperately braced the doors, but they were already on the verge of giving way.
Just as the doors were about to be smashed open.
A figure stood before them.
Lin Jin's shadow clone.
He raised a hand and unleashed a palm strike infused with chakra.
The three anomalies at the front instantly flew backward, knocking over their companions behind them.
Then he turned back and looked at the terrified students and teachers.
"Don't be afraid. Just leave the rest to me."
It was a simple sentence, yet it inexplicably put them at ease.
He turned around and faced the dozen or so anomalies alone.
Five minutes later.
All the anomalies had fallen.
Lin Jin's shadow clone glanced back at the classroom building, confirmed that no anomalies had been missed, and vanished from the spot.
In the north of the city, at a hospital.
In the south of the city, at a market.
In the city center, at an office building.
Near every anomaly entrance, Lin Jin's shadow clones were fighting.
Twenty shadow clones were spread across twenty different directions in Jiangcheng.
Like twenty gods of slaughter, they cut down every anomaly pouring out of the rifts before it could get any further.
The Paranormal Bureau's awakened went from initial despair to shock, and finally to numbness.
They watched that figure appear, then the anomalies fall, then that figure disappear.
Time after time.
Again and again.
That man, all alone, had held the entire city.
