Her family arranged a marriage alliance with the Zhao Clan’s main-line heir, Zhao Ming, to secure the clan’s continued prosperity. She rejected the arrangement and volunteered for a transfer to Jiangcheng, hoping to gain enough strength to resist her family’s decisions 14.
