With the Byakugan's scouting, Bieshu Feifan could always avoid crowded areas and steer clear of battlefields where adults were fighting.
But sparring with the Iwagakure brat before him while observing with his Byakugan
put no small strain on Bieshu Feifan.
Things were not going well for Shimura Daio, however. The Chunin from earlier had noticed his fight.
"What are you doing?"
At some point, the Chunin had appeared beside Shimura Daio and ended his six- or seven-year-old opponent with a kunai.
Shimura Daio had never expected this Chunin to be so fast.
Before he could even react, his opponent's throat had already been slit.
Shimura Daio looked at the Chunin from his own village before him and involuntarily swallowed.
He felt even more terrifying than the enemy.
"Sir, I already fought one battle just now. I'm exhausted."
"Oh, you're exhausted?"
Thick suspicion filled the Chunin's voice as he fixed Shimura Daio with a hostile stare.
Only after Shimura Daio broke out in a cold sweat did he sneer.
"Go. Charge over there and kill the enemy, or I'll deal with you as a rogue ninja."
Shimura Daio did not dare talk back. He merely gritted his teeth as he charged toward the fierce fighting, thinking to himself:
If Uncle Danzo were Hokage, would I get to do only simple missions like the people from the Sarutobi Clan?
After sending Shimura Daio off, the Chunin scanned the battlefield again.
Then he spotted Bieshu Feifan on the outskirts, and his lips immediately curled.
Bieshu Feifan, who was slacking off with his opponent, was congratulating himself on his choice.
Suddenly.
A figure flashed past.
Before Bieshu Feifan's heart could even leap, his perfect opponent had already been torn apart.
Then a tall figure came to a steady stop before him.
"I've dealt with this one for you. Genin, charge in right now. Over there is where you belong."
Once he got a clear look at the man, he realized it was the Chunin from earlier.
Before Bieshu Feifan could even curse him a couple of times inwardly, he heard the man's order.
Bieshu Feifan's expression darkened. Looking at the Chunin's brutish face and utterly emotionless eyes, he did not dare refuse.
With a grim face, Bieshu Feifan walked toward the battlefield.
After Bieshu Feifan left, the Konoha Chunin began prowling the outskirts of the battlefield again, looking for opportunities.
Fuck.
Bieshu Feifan cursed inwardly, cursing all eighteen generations of this unfamiliar Chunin's ancestors.
Cursing aside, Bieshu Feifan did not dare disobey his order.
But if he entered the battlefield just like that, Bieshu Feifan felt he was almost one hundred percent certain to die.
Those Chunin could crush him with one hand.
Even the aftereffects of a Jonin's ninjutsu could easily kill him.
Though he could not disobey the order, Bieshu Feifan would not foolishly charge into the battlefield either.
As Bieshu Feifan ran toward the battlefield, he made a turn
and headed straight for Uchiha Kun.
As for Uchiha Kun, exhausted as he was, he had initially still been able to handle the two Iwagakure brats.
But after failing to finish them quickly, the little strength Uchiha Kun had recovered soon ran out, and he gradually found himself being beaten back by two six- or seven-year-olds.
"Hahaha! Konoha's Uchiha Clan is nothing special!"
As one Iwagakure brat fought, his confidence suddenly soared, and he actually began to taunt him.
The other chimed in:
"Jinji, don't get too full of yourself. This is just an Uchiha who hasn't awakened his eyes. He's probably just some Uchiha trash. Killing him won't earn us much credit. We should be aiming for their clan head."
"Hahaha, you're right! An Uchiha this old who still hasn't awakened his eyes. Who would've thought?"
The two brats kept Uchiha Kun on the defensive while taunting him.
Though Uchiha Kun was furious, he truly had no strength left. No matter how hard he pushed his body, he could not squeeze out any more chakra.
At that moment, Uchiha Kun was filled with regret. If his three teammates were beside him, he could lie down now.
But immediately afterward, Uchiha Kun was frightened by his own thought. Had he, Uchiha Kun, already become so cowardly inside?
Suddenly, Uchiha Kun shouted. Red light flashed in his eyes, and a pair of one-tomoe Sharingan appeared instantly.
The two Iwagakure Genin, who had just been boasting about capturing the Uchiha Clan Head alive, were instantly startled by Uchiha Kun's surging presence.
The two brats had just thought of retreating when Uchiha Kun closed in before them without their noticing, thrusting a kunai into each of their chests.
The rain in the Land of Rain grew heavier at that moment.
Uchiha Kun and the other two stood motionless. A moment later, all three fell to the ground at once.
The two Iwagakure brats were dead, and Uchiha Kun had completely exhausted himself, collapsing to the ground, his fate unknown.
"Captain Kun!"
Just then, Uchiha Kun heard Bieshu Feifan's voice and immediately felt sick.
Was this piece of shit only coming to help after the fighting was over again?
Overcome with agitation, Uchiha Kun failed to catch his breath and passed out on the spot.
Bieshu Feifan ran over and held Uchiha Kun, his voice hoarse.
"Captain Kun! Captain Kun, don't die!"
As Bieshu Feifan shook Uchiha Kun, he checked whether he was dead.
He was still alive. A little disappointing.
But he was nearly there.
His body was severely overtaxed, and he was breathing out more than he was breathing in.
He might stop breathing at any moment.
A bold idea suddenly occurred to Bieshu Feifan. He looked around. Brutal fighting surrounded him, and figures blurred behind the curtain of rain.
On the battlefield, aside from the Chunin, who could still put up a bit of a fight, Genin died wherever they went.
Bieshu Feifan's own life hung by a thread as well.
At that thought, Bieshu Feifan found the nerve to act on his vicious impulse. Without hesitation, he scooped up the unconscious Uchiha Kun and hurried away from the battlefield.
At the same time, taking advantage of the jolting, Bieshu Feifan's right fingers found Uchiha Kun's eyes and slipped inside.
Uchiha Kun did not react.
Good.
Special chakra, absorb.
As a tremendous surge of chakra poured into his body, Bieshu Feifan immediately felt lighter.
Moreover, this chakra instantly became one with him.
He could sense its eagerness to surge toward his eyes.
He had never expected it to go so smoothly. Bieshu Feifan felt terrifyingly strong now.
If he could inherit Uchiha Kun's Sharingan abilities intact, Bieshu Feifan felt he would have the strength to rival an experienced Genin.
Unlike Bieshu Feifan, who wore grief on his face but felt joy inside, the deeply unconscious Uchiha Kun only felt the last bit of chakra sustaining his life
drain away.
His body immediately shuddered, and he breathed his last.
"Hm? He's stopped breathing?"
This was Bieshu Feifan's first time absorbing special chakra from a living person. He had not expected it to kill Uchiha Kun.
He had already worked out how to handle things, yet he had never expected Uchiha Kun to be so obliging, so considerate,
and die on his own.
Just as Bieshu Feifan ran out of the battlefield, he encountered the brutish-faced Konoha Chunin who only dared prowl its outskirts.
"Go back."
The Chunin gave the order in a cold, low voice.
Bieshu Feifan immediately broke out in a cold sweat.
"I'll go back right now, sir. But my captain is dead. Sorry for the trouble, but please look after his body."
Bieshu Feifan spoke in a choked voice and even cast a reluctant glance at Uchiha Kun.
He silently said to himself:
Brother Kun, you were a good man. Rest in peace. I'll protect your clan's eyes from Danzo in the future.
The Chunin acknowledged him expressionlessly, then urged Bieshu Feifan to leave quickly with his eyes.
Bieshu Feifan glanced at the Chunin, committing his appearance to memory.
Once Bieshu Feifan charged toward the battlefield again, the brutish-faced Konoha Chunin looked at Uchiha Kun's corpse and involuntarily swallowed.
Suppressing his impulse, he averted his gaze from Uchiha Kun's eyes, then left the body alone.
Bieshu Feifan did feel he had wronged Uchiha Kun somewhat, but then he remembered that the Uchiha Clan would be wiped out in just a few years.
He would die then anyway. It was merely a matter of sooner or later, and Bieshu Feifan immediately felt much better.
Despite the Chunin's threat, Bieshu Feifan would not actually charge into the battlefield.
Bieshu Feifan was very tired now, so he surveyed his surroundings and activated his Byakugan once more.
He clearly made out the positions of both sides fighting in the forests of the Land of Rain.
Then Bieshu Feifan charged toward an Iwagakure Genin around ten years old.
His opponent looked exhausted too.
