Background

Liu Erlong was born to Lady Liu, a courtesan, and Yu Luomian of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Because of her mother’s background, Yu Luomian kept Erlong outside the clan as an illegitimate daughter and made her take her mother’s surname. His elder brother, Clan Master Yu Yuanzhen, was the first to oppose Lady Liu’s acceptance into the clan 59 81.

Erlong grew up in pleasure establishments, where she endured harassment and predatory attention. Her mother protected her throughout childhood, but died before Erlong became strong enough to protect her in return. Erlong never acknowledged Yu Luomian as her father and blamed him for her mother’s suffering 59 73 81.

Appearance

Liu Erlong has a voluptuous build and develops a more martial, commanding appearance after becoming the Hell Dragon Hunter 7 88.

Personality

Erlong is hot-tempered, direct, and fiercely loyal to those she trusts. Her admiration for Yu Xiaogang’s knowledge becomes an almost unquestioning faith in his character: she defends him against plagiarism accusations, shares his life as a fugitive, and offers to drink what she believes is poison in his place. Even after Xu Feng shows her evidence of his manipulation, she initially refuses to accept it 46 47 52 59 78 79.

Her mother’s treatment leaves her particularly hostile toward men who exploit affection. Once she hears Yu Xiaogang’s actual thoughts, her devotion turns into violent hatred. As warden, she becomes a feared disciplinarian, but also insists that Xu Feng’s subordinates respect their hierarchy and treat one another as comrades rather than betray one another 80 81 89 142 150.

Despite her confidence in battle, Erlong remains emotionally vulnerable. She is initially embarrassed by her revealing armor, develops unreciprocated hopes toward Xu Feng, and feels inferior when comparing herself with Bibi Dong. After Xu Feng publicly acknowledges Bibi Dong as his girlfriend, Erlong tries to refocus on her original goal of seeking justice for her mother 81 91 140.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Formation of the Golden Iron Triangle

Erlong meets Flender and Yu Xiaogang in a tavern after Bibi Dong rejects Xiaogang. Sympathetic toward his apparent heartbreak and impressed by his knowledge, she remains with them. Within a month, Xiaogang develops their Golden Sacred Dragon fusion skill, bringing the trio fame across the Heaven Dou Empire. Erlong falls for him without realizing that he considers her a replacement option for Bibi Dong 7 43.

When Xiaogang faces accusations of plagiarizing Spirit Hall’s ancient texts, Erlong believes his denials and agrees to hide with him. During their flight, he leaves her to delay pursuers, while Flender turns back to rescue her. Although Xiaogang reluctantly joins the ensuing fusion attack, Erlong thanks him without knowing how readily he had been prepared to abandon her 46 47 52.

Capture and Attempted Revenge

Xu Feng and Yue Guan capture Erlong alongside Xiaogang. She offers to take a potion in his place, believing it poisonous, and later breaks into the cave in her Martial Soul Avatar to stop Xu Feng from killing him. Bibi Dong intercepts her and drags her outside 59 63.

Believing Xiaogang has died in the subsequent explosion, Erlong intercepts Xu Feng’s flying chariot. She openly accepts that her revenge attempt may kill her, saying she would welcome reunion with Xiaogang. Gui Mei defeats her, after which Xu Feng secretly transports her into the Chaos Realm and confines her in the Hell Cage 73 78.

Discovery of Yu Xiaogang’s Deception

Xu Feng reveals that Xiaogang is still alive as an undead prisoner and shows Erlong his memories and inner thoughts. She initially dismisses the revelation as fabricated. To test it herself, she accepts the Hell Dragon Hunter mark and approaches Xiaogang’s cell, where she hears his loving promises contradicted by thoughts of exploiting her 78 79.

Her remaining hope collapses when his claim to love her proves rooted in lust rather than the affection she sought. She brutally attacks him, gaining two cultivation levels through the negative emotions produced by his suffering. Xu Feng intervenes before she destroys him, then redirects her despair toward seeking justice for her mother. Erlong formally agrees to serve him as the Hell Dragon Hunter 80 81.

Warden of the Hell Cage

Over the following year, Erlong oversees the undead and the construction of the Puppet Altar. Her relentless demands kill two undead workers, while her repeated punishments drive Xiaogang insane. Her administration also generates a substantial increase in Xu Feng’s Lying Flat Points 88 89.

As a reward for her service, Xu Feng supplies the pills that raise her to level 80 and obtains a hundred-thousand-year Fire Dragon King Soul Ring. Erlong absorbs it while bathing in the lava of the Nectar and Jade Dew Pool, completing her advancement to Soul Douluo 89 90 91 92 93.

Hunt for Tang Hao and Tang San

Xu Feng orders Erlong to kill Tang Hao and Tang San, warning her not to underestimate them. Before departing, she forces the undead to complete the Puppet Altar within a day and restores their bodies through its formation. She then enters the Douluo World with Salas and the other revived Soul Masters 94 98.

Despite her superior combat power, Tang Hao repeatedly escapes. When Qian Xunji and other Titled Douluo intervene, Erlong orders the undead to buy her time through self-detonation. She severs Tang Hao’s right arm and left leg, takes his dropped Soul Bones, and escapes wounded. On reporting her failure, Xu Feng forgives her; the system confirms that Tang Hao’s protective halo power has weakened 122 128 129 130 139.

Return and Undead Army Training

After Erlong returns, Xu Feng publicly identifies Bibi Dong as his girlfriend and orders his subordinates to obey her. Erlong suppresses her romantic hopes and reminds herself that obtaining justice for her mother was her original purpose in becoming the Hell Dragon Hunter 140.

She subsequently takes charge of the undead troops’ discipline and training. After settling her grievance with Yue Guan through a decisive beating, she calls for solidarity among Xu Feng’s followers and is appointed a sparring partner alongside Yue Guan and Gui Mei. She continues enforcing training rules, whipping troops who disregard restrictions and damage the grounds 142 143 147 148 150 152.
