The Monroe Family was based inside a small mountain in Sun Radiance Valley. Caverns had been excavated throughout the mountain's interior, interconnecting with one another and fitted with many astonishingly powerful defenses.
Han Shuo flew over and stopped atop an ancient tree more than ten meters tall, looking toward the source of the commotion.
Thick smoke billowed from the caverns where the Monroe Family stationed its troops. Flames blazed at the entrances of some, and it looked as though their interiors had caught fire.
Many stone chambers had been excavated inside those caverns, each like a room, complete with all manner of household furnishings. Some were decorated even more lavishly than shops in Sun Radiance Valley. With a single Fire Dragon Spell sent inside, it was perfectly normal for a fierce blaze to spread rapidly.
At the exits of the small mountain, a group of swift-moving people had their heads and faces covered. Among them, several Fire Mages periodically chanted Fire Element spells, sending tongues of flame into the cavern entrances.
This group moved nimbly and coordinated seamlessly. The Fire Mages set fires while the Wind Element Magic Mages used wind to help the flames spread. Several archers held bows and arrows, forcing any Monroe Family members who poked their heads out of the caverns back inside.
The entire mountain covered an enormous area. Its already hollow interior had gained many caverns and stone chambers of varying sizes after excavation. These troublemakers targeted only one corner of the mountain. Whenever people from elsewhere came to help, they immediately withdrew out of sight, hiding among the surrounding trees.
They were clearly extremely familiar with the surrounding terrain and skilled at striking in one place before moving to another. Once discovered, they immediately fought a retreating action and swiftly withdrew, then circled
