Cecilia and the others concentrated fully on dealing with the charging magical beasts. The remaining beasts were all high-level ones, constantly spitting venom and unleashing their innate magic as they raced toward them.
Cecilia's group struggled to hold them off at first, but once Han Shuo cast a Weakness Barrier over them, all the magical beasts abruptly slowed. The pressure on Cecilia's group suddenly eased, and they hurriedly gathered their magic again and unleashed it, plunging the remaining beasts into torment.
The meat shields who had stood at the very front faithfully held their ground. Seeing the magical beasts slow drastically and enter their attack range, they drew javelins and hurled them, pinning down and killing the beasts whose bodies and souls had been exhausted by the Weakness Barrier.
"Thank you!" Cecilia called to Han Shuo from a distance.
"You're welcome. It was nothing!" Han Shuo answered with a smile.
Even without Han Shuo's Weakness Barrier, Cecilia's group could have killed this pack of magical beasts, but it certainly would not have been this easy. At the very least, the five swordsmen and knights who had held the front as meat shields would have been injured in the beasts' charge.
"Oh! Not a bad haul!" A sword master walked among the dead magical beasts with his longsword in hand, extracting the Magic Cores of several high-level beasts one by one as he spoke with a delighted smile.
"Don't bother collecting Magic Beast Cores below level three. They aren't worth many gold coins anyway. Let's get moving!" Cecilia instructed from a distance.
"Understood, my lady. We'll be done in a moment!" another sword master, Kalei, answered loudly, gradually making his way toward several beasts that had died farther away.
