When someone suddenly received something they had long yearned for, it was hard to calm down. Fanny was just like that. Between Han Shuo's return and the joy of knowing her strength would soon soar, she simply could not settle down.
After trying for a while, Han Shuo discovered that Fanny's soul remained excited, leaving her unable to focus on sensing what he was doing. He could only give up helplessly. Seeing her grow anxious, he said gently, "Never mind, never mind. There's no hurry."
"Yes, let's leave it for today. This bastard is back now, anyway. We'll have plenty of time," Phoebe said with a smile, comforting Fanny.
A thought struck Han Shuo, and he tried observing Phoebe and Emily. He discovered sincere delight on both women's faces. They were both happy for Fanny, without any of the jealousy or resentment he had imagined.
When he had left the Qio Continent, Han Shuo had noticed some lingering estrangement between the three women. He had already prepared words to soothe the other two, never expecting them to get along so well. This rather surprised him.
Emily's eyes roamed over Han Shuo's face. Seemingly understanding his thoughts, she laughed sweetly. "Did you think we'd definitely be jealous?"
"A little. I didn't expect you to be on such good terms now." Han Shuo made no attempt to hide it, his expression puzzled.
"You were gone for five years. For all that time, only when the three of us were together could we feel your presence through sharing our experiences of knowing you. Over those five years, we met practically every few days. None of us is petty, and we've learned to let things go. Whatever barriers there once were between us disappeared long ago," Emily explained with a giggle.
