The Saint Family.
Wallace, Lord of Shadow City, had been in a foul mood lately. In handling some of Shadow City's affairs, he abandoned his usual gradual approach and became swift and decisive, beginning a stringent crackdown on problems among the seven Divine Guard commands.
The city had seven Divine Guard Captains in total. The top three all came from the Saint Family, while the other four positions were held by powerful members of the four great families. Using Kamelita's grievous injuries and the previous infiltration of Shadow City by people from the Life Divine Domain and Water Element Divine Domain as pretexts, Wallace blamed the seven Divine Guard Captains for neglecting their duties and seized the opportunity to overhaul the Seventh Divine Guards Division.
Everyone knew that Kamelita's grievous injuries had enraged him. At such a sensitive time, no one dared defy Wallace's orders, and a number of orders affecting Shadow City were passed down without resistance. Avery was temporarily away from Shadow City, and several captains were suddenly assigned to his Fifth Divine Guards Office, on the grounds that it might be short-handed in his absence.
Apart from the top three Divine Guard Captain positions, which belonged exclusively to the Saint Family, the other four divisions had always been left under the control of the four great families. Wallace had never interfered. His actions this time provoked considerable controversy, but he forcefully suppressed it.
The captains of the Fifth Divine Guards Office had plenty of complaints, and the Rivers Family's patriarch was deeply displeased as well. Faced with Wallace's fury, however, none dared say much. They merely attributed his actions to his terrible mood of late, believing he would naturally change once Kamelita recovered.
Only Andrei understood his elder brother's intentions. He secretly cooperated with Wallace and began
