Duke and Clark were talking inside a room at the Knight Academy, while the Advanced Swordsman stood guard outside the door, seemingly afraid that someone might come and disturb them.
Duke had personally set up a Wind Barrier around the room. When Han Shuo's Yuan Demon approached, it could only see Eric, the Advanced Swordsman guarding outside. Sensing faint magical fluctuations, the Yuan Demon did not dare enter without permission and could not determine what the two inside were discussing.
The last time Duke had met Camilla in a Darkness Department classroom, they had chosen to meet late at night. Certain that no one would discover them, they had not taken this extra precaution.
