Chu Xisheng used the corpse calamity and the gods’ attacks to advance his ascension while his allies seized control of the Netherworld and attacked the Grand Void God Palace. His schemes drew out the black hand threatening the world, and he asked First-Generation Doumu Yuanjun and White Emperor's Son about the world's truth.

• Ji Qianqian shot down Shen Chilun with a Divine Annihilation Arrow as Chu Xisheng’s corpse poison spread through the Giant Spirits and divine armies.
• Si Huangquan won the allegiance of many birds, captured Nine-Phoenix with her allies’ help, and received the Book of Death after Li Wenhuang took it from Wood God Lingwei.
• Gouchen Star Lord killed himself as the corpse calamity erupted, and Void God Sheyuan attacked Chu Xisheng while his ascension rituals gathered strength.
• Chu Xisheng advanced his Hundun and Wish-Fulfillment powers into Creation, while Chu Yunyun completed her God-Ascension Secret Ritual and struck Wind God Disha.
