With a direction to work toward, Ye Feng's worries eased, and he began to calm himself, ready to study the wondrous uses of true qi.

But then Ye Feng was dumbfounded. He had clearly condensed a strand of true qi just now, so how had it suddenly disappeared? No matter how he tried, he could not sense it. Refusing to believe it, Ye Feng sat cross-legged again and began practicing the Cultivation Method.

With his first experience behind him, condensing it was much faster this time. A little over ten minutes later, he condensed a strand of true qi and guided it into his dantian. Then he stopped cultivating, keeping his mind focused on the state of that strand.

The true qi that had just entered his body began seeping out of his dantian bit by bit, spreading through his meridians to every part of his body and merging into his blood, muscles, and bone marrow. A tiny portion also dispersed into his brain, leaving him feeling a little more alert. Whether it was his imagination or not, every part of his body also seemed a little stronger.

It turned out that the disappearing true qi was merging into every part of his body, strengthening it.

Now that he understood what was happening, Ye Feng was brimming with motivation and threw himself into cultivating toward the pinnacle of the Hokage world.

Bang, bang, bang!

Just then, someone knocked on the door, immediately followed by the sound of it being violently thrown open.

Crash!

"Ye Feng! Ye Feng! Don't be scared, I'm here!"

Hearing that familiar voice, an image of someone wearing goggles and sportswear flashed through Ye Feng's memories.

A moment later, that figure appeared before him.

Obito Uchiha! A minor boss in the first part of Hokage, and a tragic figure as well. The person he loved had died, and he had lived in hatred ever since, only to fall victim to a treacherous attack in the end and finally find peace as he died.

In this life, however, he was Uchiha Ye Feng's close friend. Both families were on the fringes of the Uchiha clan and lived near each other. Obito Uchiha was easygoing, liked making friends, and was about the same age, so naturally, he often played with Uchiha Ye Feng. The two frequently went off to do stupid things, though it was mostly Obito doing them while Ye Feng got dragged along.

When Obito Uchiha learned that Uchiha Ye Feng's parents had died and that Ye Feng himself had fainted, he hurried over to check on him. Holding Ye Feng's head, he examined it from top to bottom and side to side, only letting out a sigh of relief when he saw no injuries.

"Don't be scared. You've got me. Stick with me from now on, and I guarantee you'll live the good life. Come on, you haven't eaten yet, have you? I'll take you out for a feast!" As he spoke, he grabbed Ye Feng and tried to pull him outside.

"No need. I've already eaten. Don't worry about me. I'm fine."

"You're really fine? Then come on. Rin, Ibiki, and the others are having a picnic. Let's join them."

At that moment, Ye Feng's mind was entirely on cultivation. How could he be in the mood to have a picnic with a bunch of little kids? To him now, that would simply be wasting his life.

He immediately said, "I'll pass. I want some peace and quiet."

"All right, then. I'll bring you something tasty tonight!" Obito Uchiha said after a moment's hesitation.

Once Obito Uchiha was out the door, Ye Feng hurriedly sat cross-legged and began cultivating again.

Sensing the strands of true qi gathering, Ye Feng did not find it boring in the slightest. Before he knew it, night had fallen.

Ye Feng opened his eyes to the sight of a large face and goggles mere inches away. Startled, he immediately recoiled, backing all the way into the corner. Once he saw who it was, he said furiously,

"You could scare someone to death like that! You didn't even say anything when you came in."

"I called you as soon as I came in. You just didn't hear me. You kept sitting here without moving at all. Here's the food I brought you. What were you doing just now?"

Ye Feng ignored him, got up, walked over, and took the food, then began eating, treating Obito as though he were invisible.

"What's with you? I brought you something tasty, and you're still ignoring me?"

"I was cultivating."

"You've already started cultivating? I want to cultivate too! Who did you learn from?"
