Wang Ba immediately realized who it was.
His gaze shifted slightly as he checked himself over. Only after finding nothing amiss did he step forward to open the door.
There were no cultivators from the Three Great Sects outside, only Zhang Tailai, who strode inside with a tense expression, reeking of smoke.
Only when he saw Wang Ba safe and sound did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"Fellow Daoist Shen, you wouldn't open the door. You scared me to death!"

He turned to Bu Chan in puzzlement. "There were two bangs outside while I was in seclusion?"
Bu Chan nodded. "Yes, they were very loud. I don't know what could have made such a racket."
"I went over there and had a look. Seemed a bit like Heavenly Thunder Seeds."
Zhang Tailai scratched his head.
Wang Ba seemed bewildered by this and shook his head.
"Never mind. There's no need to look into it. Most likely, some cultivators were fighting outside the city."
"We aren't going out anyway. There's no need to worry too much."
A look of partial comprehension appeared on Zhang Tailai's honest face. "Oh, then I'll head back."
