"Was this the Dao of the Little Cang Realm?"
Wang Ba stood dazed, looking around him.
No, there was no longer any distinction between up, down, left, and right here. All he saw were clearly defined black and white strands of "Dao" that even he struggled to understand, woven densely together like a web, overlapping and spreading horizontally and vertically throughout the space he could see.
They formed flowing empty squares crisscrossed with black and white.
These strands of "Dao" linked together precisely, blending into one another with unimaginable intricacy.
There were clearly only black and white threads, yet every seemingly simple crossing, overlap, and interweaving seemed capable of producing something entirely new and different at its intersecting "node."
Even with Wang Ba's current attainments in the various Daos, he could barely make out the more obvious "nodes."
With a slight stir of his mind, these webs rapidly enlarged within his consciousness:
Could this be... fire?
This is water... this should be wood...
He had spent the longest studying the five elements and had the deepest attainments in them. Soon, he sorted out a tiny fraction of the nodes that appeared to belong to the five elements.
It was only a tiny fraction because he could understand only the purest aspects of these nodes. Once they connected to or overlapped with new nodes, he could no longer understand them at all.
And even with these simplest, purest aspects, he was only guessing and estimating, comparing them against his own Dao Domain. He could not be entirely certain.
Inwardly, Wang Ba frowned slightly.
This was not the result he had imagined.
He had originally thought that entering this place would be like viewing the Zhou Tian Stars Diagram, receiving enlightenment that pointed him out of the maze, as though wisdom were
