Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Original world capacity: Body Integration | 639 740 | Its innate limits permitted Body Integration cultivators. A full reserve of world origin could also produce seventh-tier spirit veins and spirit materials. |
| Heaven and Earth Downgrading | 468 644 | Ye Cangsheng’s failed ascension tore open the realm and lowered its World Rank. Spirit Transformation cultivators subsequently risked tribulation lightning merely by acting openly. |
| Assimilation of Guantao Realm | 646 | Absorbed another World Domain, incorporating its distinctive Dao and forming new threads within its own rules. |
| Boundary and origin replenishment | 650 | Materials gathered from destroyed World Eaters strengthened the boundary membrane and were refined into world origin; a portion was reserved for emergencies. |
| World Rank recovery | 700 | Primal chaos source substance released by Chonghua and Fanming restored domain origin, spiritual energy, and World Rank. |
| Advancement to a greater realm | 834 836 | Wang Ba integrated eight World Remains into its laws. The realm became several times larger, changed into a disk, and gained the capacity to accommodate Early Stage Tribulation Crossing cultivators. |
| Filtration of outside laws | 841 | Layers of spirit beasts were stationed along the boundary membrane to absorb intrusive laws and improve conditions for Tribulation Crossing breakthroughs. The filtration remained imperfect. |
| Severe depletion and partial recovery | 910 911 | Yao Wudi drew on almost all its origin during the confrontation with Buddha Lord Tianshang. The realm shriveled dramatically, then began recovering during its departure toward Extreme Azure Abyss. |
Geography
Original Nine Continents
| Continent | Position | Documented Features |
|---|---|---|
| Wind-Approaching Continent | Central continent | Used as the reference point for the other continents; remained a cultivator stronghold during the expansion of True Martial rule 329 501 617. |
| Daosheng Province | West of Wind-Approaching Continent | Lay between Wind-Approaching Continent and the two westernmost continents 329 501. |
| Xituo Continent | Far west | Known as the land of a hundred thousand Buddhist kingdoms; home to the Ten-Thousand-Buddha Śarīra Pagoda 329 585. |
| Tupi Continent | Far west | Described as covered in savage tribes; also rendered “Tubbi” in a later geographical account 329 501. |
| Emperor Pole Continent | East of Wind-Approaching Continent | A center of the imperial way. The Great Qian Imperial Clan left ordinary administration to Confucian scholars 329 483. |
| Tianmo Continent | North of Emperor Pole Continent | One of the eastern continents 329. |
| Jingyuan Continent | South of Emperor Pole Continent | Described as a paradise on earth 329. |
| North Sea Continent | Far north | Bitterly cold and rarely visited 329 617. |
| Zhongsheng Continent | Far south | Isolated by the persistent Yuan Magnetism Storms of the Yuan Magnetism Sea 329 501. |
- Zhongsheng Continent’s elevation: Li Yuehua raised the continent three thousand chi above the sea, leaving a coastline towering over the surrounding waters 535.
- Extreme Southern Wind Cave: The realm’s “umbilical opening,” connecting it with the outside and containing the source of its corrosive, self-devouring power 512 518.
- Senluo Underworld: A place from which the realm’s True Spirits can be observed. Later accounts place it at the center of the four internal continents 636 836.
- Northern Uttarakuru: A continent inhabited by Witch People. During the greater-realm transformation, laws Wang Ba introduced from outside settled there and began changing it 836.
External Form
- Before reconstruction: Appeared pitch-black and egg-shaped, pulsing rhythmically in the void beneath a sparse layer of primal chaos source substance. Other observations describe a tadpole-like outline 518 634 665.
- After reconstruction: Became a disk several times its former size 834.
- Surrounding structures: Nine Great Guard Cities circled the realm, while Floating Law Artifacts could hold it stationary against the winds of Immortal Severance Land 756 759 831.
Nature and Laws
World Origin and Resources
- Origin of the Dao Root: Also called domain creation, domain origin, or world origin. Cang Fuzi displayed it as an enormous square pool containing only a shallow reserve during the realm’s decline 639.
- Resource formation: Primal chaos source substance combines with the realm’s Dao to produce its natural resources, including treasures with properties more profound than the source substance itself 535.
- Replenishment: The boundary membrane can draw surrounding primal chaos source substance inward. Assimilating another World Domain can also supply unfamiliar laws and any remaining domain origin 644 646.
- Cultivators as resources: Cultivation and Dao Opportunity form part of the realm’s substance. Their loss through ascension therefore threatens a depleted world rather than merely reducing its population 470.
Will, Authority, and Restrictions
- World Spirit: Cang Fuzi seeks the realm’s survival but is bound by rules requiring what belongs to the realm—including its inhabitants’ True Spirits—to remain if someone leaves 631.
- Delegated authority: Wang Ba’s one-third share of authority allows him to command numerous internal rules and wield power far beyond what he can exert outside 675.
- Tribulation lightning: Wang Ba and Cang Fuzi can control it within the realm, although a higher law can compel its activation without either one’s consent 676.
- Cultivation suppression: After the downgrading, even powerful cultivators had to conceal their presence. Wang Xu was exceptional in being able to exercise Void Refinement power freely 617 644.
- Daoist Grounds: Provided shelter from heaven-and-earth restrictions, but required substantial resources to maintain 535.
- Resistance to containment: The realm’s interlocking laws counteracted Wang Ba’s Size-and-Ruyi Divine Ability, preventing him from simply carrying it inside his sleeve 841.
The Umbilical Passage
- Normal function: Draws nourishment from beyond the realm, likened by Li Yuehua to a fetus’s umbilical connection 512.
- Starvation response: With insufficient outside nourishment, the realm developed a corrosive force capable of converting its own contents into the power of heaven and earth 512 518.
- Guardians: Generations of Yuan Magnetic Palace disciples guarded the Extreme Southern Wind Cave and restrained this corrosive power 512.
- Diseased membranes: Li Yuehua removed black membranes from the passage, but warned that the Will of Heaven and Earth would eventually regrow them 518.
History
Decline and the Heaven Rift
The Little Cang Realm’s decline was tied to dwindling primal chaos source substance outside its boundary. Wang Ba suspected generations of unrestricted cultivation had helped trigger the crisis, but concluded that the fundamental problem was the lack of replenishment. Continued decline would eventually leave the realm dead or consumed by World Eaters 535.
Ye Cangsheng’s failed ascension shattered the sky and accelerated the world’s downgrading. The resulting openings exposed the realm to the Boundary Sea: Shangguan Renci entered one and was seized by a black claw, while Xun Fujun burned his Primordial Spirit and detonated the Yuyang Drum to help seal another 468.
Jiang Yi later identified replenishing Primal Chaos Mother Qi as a possible restoration method. She also supplied the Wall-Joining Method to repair fissures in the boundary wall and described how a secret realm containing many Dao Domains could become a small world capable of supporting Spirit Transformation tribulations 477.
Beings Bound to the Realm
Xuanyuanzi revealed that he was a dark tortoise whose body had merged with the Little Cang Realm’s laws. Unable to ascend, he remained trapped and asked Wang Ba to help him achieve Liberation by Violence 559.
Cang Fuzi likewise faced constraints imposed by the realm and Boundary Sea. Although willing to offer Wang Ba the position of realm master, it could not freely permit the departure of the realm’s resources and True Spirits 631.
The Wandering Little Cang Realm
Wang Ba proposed moving the entire world to a region rich in primal chaos source substance, naming the plan “The Wandering Little Cang Realm.” Cang Fuzi initially questioned whether a World Domain could be moved at all and warned that its ability to remain suspended in the void could not be taken for granted 631 634.
Fanming ultimately carried the realm away from the position it had occupied since birth. Wang Ba and Zhao Feng then secured an oath from the gathered cultivators: they would not ascend until the realm found a peaceful home, and would fight for its survival in exchange for cultivation resources. With Jiang Yi’s guidance, Wang Ba selected the Cloud-Heaven Realm as their destination 635 636.
During the journey, the realm absorbed Guantao Realm and harvested resources from World Eaters. Spirit Transformation cultivators maintained internal stability, while the newly advanced Void Refinement cultivators joined Wang Ba in confronting dangers outside 646 650 652.
Wind Disaster Region and Immortal Severance Land
The journey brought the realm into white mist inhabited by Double-Pupil Bearers. A violent windstorm separated it from Fanming, and an enormous gray hand rescued it by pulling it onto a black rock Wang Ba identified as a Yuan Magnetism Rail Domain 653.
Wang Ba later used the Wind-Driving Staff to lift and guide the realm through the winds. The Double-Pupiled Daoist subsequently attacked it and sent Immortal Blood inside, transforming Zhao Feng, Jiying, Liang Wuji, and others into Double-Pupil Bearers. The Six-Fingered God and Devil’s resistance and Fanming’s arrival helped the realm escape 664 665 673 675.
After reaching the outskirts of Immortal Severance Land, Wang Ba concealed the realm from surrounding factions. He later moved it deeper inside, using terrain feared by local powers as a refuge from the Jade Pot Realm 689 704.
Rise in the Sea of Boundary Turmoil
Primal chaos source substance supplied by Chonghua and Fanming restored the realm, but Wang Ba continued to conceal its existence. He feared that competition over limited resources would provoke the established Three Realms into attacking another major World Domain 700 701 729.
Over the following centuries, its Guard Cities, Daoist Grounds, and cultivator population expanded. Wang Ba eventually opened accommodation and trade to outside cultivators, and alliances formed against the Jade Pot Realm remedied earlier shortages of Body Integration and Void Refinement cultivators. The Little Cang Realm ultimately surpassed the Jade Pot Realm in overall strength 758 769 770.
Sea-Cutting Cliff nevertheless trapped it in a region where primal chaos source substance continued to diminish. Wang Ba sought assistance beyond the barrier, while Hui Yunzi appealed to Patriarch Chongyuan on behalf of the realm’s Myriad Phenomena Sect disciples 794 810.
Reconstruction and Later Depletion
Wang Ba overcame the realm’s innate limits by integrating eight World Remains with its boundary laws. Cang Fuzi managed the incorporation while Man Daoist, Patriarch Chongyuan, and Patriarch Qitian stabilized the boundary. The reconstruction exposed the workings of a living world to observers, providing rare insights into rules 834 836.
The enlarged realm’s four continents expanded, spiritual Qi surged, and its deities strengthened alongside its laws. Because the reconstruction used dead World Remains rather than complete living worlds, Wang Ba judged its new capacity sufficient for Early Stage Tribulation Crossing, not unrestricted advancement 836.
During the confrontation with Buddha Lord Tianshang, Yao Wudi drew on almost all the realm’s origin, leaving it shriveled like a dried orange. With nearby primal chaos source substance also running out, Wang Ba departed aboard Fanming with the realm and accompanying followers, heading toward Extreme Azure Abyss 910 911.
Society and Institutions
| Institution | Function |
|---|---|
| Hundred Arts Academy | Centralized technical inheritances and accepted qualified specialists from sects, clans, and rogue cultivators as teachers. Combined teaching, research, exchange, and cultivation-resource salaries 656. |
| Earthly Treasures Hall | Rewarded useful research and techniques, employed specialists, and offered academy graduates priority for entry 656. |
| Three Great Camps | Organized outside cultivators into Purple, White, and Azure camps for Body Integration, Void Refinement, and Spirit Transformation respectively. Their growth strengthened allegiance to the realm but sharply increased resource consumption 828. |
| Nine Great Guard Cities | Orbited the realm, supported crafting activity, and could activate defensive formations. Some vacant cities were offered as residences for outsiders 759 769. |
| Linglong Market | Trading center compared with the former Great Sea Market. Access to precious treasures and opportunities to reincarnate within the realm required accumulated Little Cang Realm merit points 769. |
- Technical development: Sea Pearl deductions raised many Hundred Arts techniques toward the sixth tier, while cooperation between academy and sect departments produced new formations and artifacts 662.
- Outside inheritances: Wang Ba collected complete Sacred Defilement Realm legacies containing Body Integration and Tribulation Crossing knowledge, supplementing native inheritances that had reached only Void Refinement 756.
- Rapid advancement: Immortal Blood, the Boundary Sea environment, and Threefold Suffering helped drive extraordinary cultivation growth over roughly two thousand years, although many cultivators still lacked comparable accumulated foundations 836.
Defenses and Transportation
- Fanming: The principal carrier of the wandering realm. Its return was decisive in escaping the Double-Pupil Bearers, and it continued carrying the realm during the journey toward Extreme Azure Abyss 635 675 911.
- Wind-Driving Staff: Allowed Wang Ba to lift and propel the realm through the Wind Disaster Region and manipulate surrounding winds during attacks 664 665 673.
- Floating Law Artifacts: Held the realm stationary amid the winds of Immortal Severance Land 756.
- Four Symbols Formation: A top-level sixth-tier formation designed to combine four thousand Void Refinement cultivators’ strength into power approaching late Body Integration. Smaller formations could be separated from it 662.
- Unassailable: Combined law artifacts embedded throughout the boundary membrane. They could concentrate the realm’s power into a desperate attack, but testing their full strength risked destroying the realm itself 659 662.
- Spirit-beast filtration: Multiple layers of beasts absorbed laws infiltrating through the boundary membrane. Some beasts died, and some foreign laws still passed through 841.
- Internal divine authority: Wang Ba’s command of the realm’s rules made him exceptionally powerful within it; after its World Rank recovered, he judged opponents below Tribulation Crossing unlikely to defeat him there 705.
