His father-in-law, Bold Windrunner, looked at the busy elves around them and said to Patrick, "Thinking of retreat before the fighting has even begun is hardly a good order."
Patrick replied, "Father-in-law, what do you think of those creatures attacking Quel'Thalas?"
Bold Windrunner thought for a moment and slowly began to reason it out. "I don't believe any creatures in all of Azeroth would dare attack Quel'Thalas directly, especially head-on. So many who dreamed of attacking Bann'donor ended up reduced to pure arcane energy."
His father-in-law went straight to the heart of the matter. "Those unidentified creatures are very likely not native to Azeroth. They could well be the visitors from another world who destroyed the Kingdom of Stormwind. According to the information the Council received, the intelligence our scouts gathered at the front indicates that the unidentified creatures approaching Quel'Thalas are those very thugs."
Patrick responded humbly, "You're right, Father-in-law. We still need a better assessment of their strength."
His father-in-law was very pleased with Patrick's attitude. "Perhaps your decision is correct. Launching an all-out attack only after fully understanding the enemy's strength is a very reasonable decision. Go. War is a stage for the young. We'll leave this one to you."
From beginning to end, Bold Windrunner remained utterly confident in Quel'Thalas's ability to wage war. Perhaps that was precisely why, during the Second War, the enemy had fought their way right up to Bann'donor's protective barrier.
Patrick deployed half his elite troops. Even Lorne Songweaver, his intelligence chief, led troops onto the battlefield, with Higgins Eil Cabrolon, the Garrison Commander of the entire floating city, beside him.
Under the guidance of the "big cat," Regba, almost every elf in the Observers Organization would make offerings to him. With only a few simple items and ordinary arcane materials,
