Patrick stood nearby without the slightest reaction. Kael'thas had to destroy the Sunwell himself. Since he had already realized that the Sunwell was radiating the plague, Patrick no longer needed to guide him. He could simply let the prince decide for himself.
All the elves of Quel'Thalas knew full well how dangerous the Undead Plague was, and they had no objections to Kael'thas destroying the Sunwell.
Golden light erupted, and the Eternal Waters let out a piercing shriek. The golden waters rapidly turned white. Finally, the energy fluctuated violently, forming a Mana Vortex. Powerful energy suddenly burst into the sky, and at last, the entire Sunwell fell still.
Kael'thas had stirred up turbulence in the Sunwell's energy, guiding it to dissipate naturally and stopping the Sunwell from radiating Arcane energy. This would naturally stop it from spreading the plague, but it was not the best solution, because the Sunwell remained contaminated. If he detonated it outright, the entire Isle of Quel'Danas would be in danger. Kael'thas did not dare simply blow up the energy source the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas had used for thousands of years.
After all, who would dare blow up a nuclear power plant? The Sunwell's explosive power would not necessarily be any less than a nuclear power plant's. It merely lacked the radioactive contamination.
With the Sunwell's problem resolved, Prince Kael'thas led everyone back to Sunfury Spire together with Patrick. Sunfury Spire had already been destroyed. Just as in the future, the main tower was gone, with only the auxiliary Mage Towers beside it still intact.
The prince took His Majesty Anasterian's former seat without hesitation. As the Council's last remaining senior member, Patrick should now have been its highest decision-maker under the kingdom's original system.
