By now, things in Quel'Thalas had improved considerably, much to Patrick's relief. Apart from the birth rate, which remained stubbornly low, everything was proceeding along the path he had laid out.

"But over these past few years, Patrick arranged for three military bases to be built around the Elfgate, rebuilding Andilien Estate and the ruins of Deatholme. The three bases formed an encirclement that gave us complete control over all movement through the Elfgate. And Andilien Estate, situated on the main road, could also serve as Quel'Thalas's gateway city to the outside world. How little time did it take us to build those three bases after that decree was issued? This would have been unimaginable before the war."

Everything Alleria said was true, and the other elves could not deny it.

Patrick's main approach to governing was to use the three military bases to secure firm control of the Elfgate, ensuring that Quel'Thalas would no longer be threatened by foreign enemies. At home, he vigorously developed infrastructure and swept away every shadow left by the undead Scourge. Abroad, despite being Regent, Patrick constantly led troops from place to place. His aim was to free the elves of Quel'Thalas from their insular, shortsighted way of thinking while expanding the blood elves' influence among other races.

The old ways had carried all manner of drawbacks. With Patrick there, he would eliminate the possibility of Quel'Thalas repeating its past mistakes.

"We will send troops to help the Forsaken deal with the undead Scourge in Andorhal. As for the composition of the force, I've only just returned from the Western Continent, so make those arrangements yourselves."

He left the Council Hall. During this attack on Andorhal, he might even encounter the lord of Hearthglen, Taelan Tirion Fordring.
