Because of the Skull of Gul'dan, Illidan had grown demonic horns and bat wings, making him no longer welcome among the Night Elves.
But Eldre'Thalas was different. For ten thousand years, they had survived by drawing power from demons and had long since ceased to reject them. Besides, they had all once been Highborne, so Illidan probably knew quite a few of them.
"Once we win this war, I can give you the entire western district of Eldre'Dani, the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas's new city. You can lead your troops in establishing a Highborne kingdom. Quel'Thalas will no longer interfere in the future of your Highborne subjects. You alone will decide it." Patrick continued raising his offer, tempting him. "You will become your brother's equal, a leader of the Night Elves."
After hearing Patrick's words, Illidan was stunned, Vashj was stunned, and Kael'thas was even more stunned.
Leaving Illidan aside, Patrick's act of giving away territory and subjects alone would have qualified as treason before the Dark Portal. But Kael'thas considered that, during his absence from Azeroth, Patrick had conquered Eldre'Dani and the other territories himself. Perhaps this young Councilor had even longer-term plans.
"You can continue protecting Azeroth in your own way and continue protecting the people who trust you. You can also fully prove your abilities to Malfurion. As for the future, I can guarantee one thing: your Highborne kingdom will be an independent political entity. I will absolutely not interfere covertly in your internal affairs."
Illidan looked at the expectant gazes of Loramus and Altruis, still somewhat hesitant. "Become a leader in my own right?"
"But there is one thing I must make clear beforehand. Although I can guarantee that we will never interfere in your internal affairs, we will still need to remain aligned in foreign affairs."
