After some discussion, Patrick returned to Sunlight City. His next task was to have a proper "discussion" with the leadership of the entire Alliance and Horde. Patrick even made thorough preparations for it, making sure he would give them a surprise.

By Patrick's calculations, the armies of the Alliance and Horde should still have been in Outland. Portals between worlds were not as stable as they were in theory, and could not transport both sides' armies directly back to Azeroth.

But their leaders had returned to Azeroth so quickly that Patrick reckoned they were the only ones who had come back. That was precisely why they dared not use Kil'jaeden as a pretext to attack Quel'Thalas directly.

If the Alliance and Horde armies had all been present, Varian and the others would not have sought peace talks with Patrick right away without several flawless battles defending the kingdom first.

A flash of arcane light swept past, and Patrick appeared in the Chief's Office in Sunfury Spire. Kyrissa, princess of the Blue Dragonflight, Onyxia, who had already taken the form of a black-haired elf, and Alleria had all been waiting there for some time.

"Idonis," Patrick ordered his supervising mage. "Have the floating city proceed toward Quelrins at full speed."

"As you command." Idonis had long since reached the point of simply carrying out orders without asking why.
