In this three-way contest, the Alliance and the Horde hated each other, so they would certainly stand on opposing sides. That much was certain. As the third party, however, they would inevitably incur the displeasure of both the Alliance and the Horde. Judging by their usual habits, any faction had to lean toward one side or the other.
Thus, possessing enough strength to deter the Alliance and the Horde was an essential condition.
Hatred was the central theme of Azeroth, but survival could overshadow hatred. Patrick had to prevent the Alliance and the Horde from uniting against the Pact as a common enemy.
"I will do as you wish," Sylvanas agreed.
"Going forward, Undercity and Silvermoon City will continue their current cooperation. The remnants of the Scourge will greatly strengthen you, at least giving you substantial confidence when facing other hostile forces." The prospects were bright, but there was still little room for optimism. Azeroth never lacked major wars. "In addition, I need the sentinels under your command to do something for me."
"Don't you have the Observers Organization?" Sylvanas knew about Patrick's subordinates. He had an intelligence organization under his command, and who in the Floating City did not know its leader?
"Yes, but most of them primarily cater to adventurers. Their influence doesn't yet reach the official factions, whereas undead sentinels are my best choice."
Sylvanas smiled. "It would be my honor."
Sylvanas had once been the Ranger-General. In a sense, she felt the same way as Luminas Sunstrider. Both were Forsaken unwilling to acknowledge their own undead identities.
Unlike Luminass, however, Sylvanas was the Queen of the Forsaken, and the Forsaken were not composed solely of transformed elves. They also included humans and other races. As their ruler, Sylvanas had to consider the majority of the Forsaken.
