The harsh Arctic weather greatly affected the march, but under the protection of the Aircraft Carrier Battle Group and the Floating City, none of it seemed quite so difficult.
The journey from Howling Fjord to Dragonblight was neither especially long nor particularly short. Traveling overland could take a great deal of time, but by sea or air, it was relatively much shorter. Along the way, no beasts or sea monsters were foolish enough to attack the Aircraft Carrier. Everything was utterly uneventful.
As the fleet slowly reached its designated destination, Kilva Reef and the Isle of the Ocean's Summit duly appeared before the Elves. North of the island lay Rosalor Forest and Snowfall Glade.
The island's highest point was level with the opposite shore. Using the island and reef as a foundation, they could easily build a Blood Elf city between Rosalor Forest and Snowfall Glade, and retreat to the island if danger arose. At the same time, the island's presence would make it easy for the Sunfury Legion to gain a foothold onshore, then extend its influence throughout Dragonblight.
Moreover, east of Wyrmrest Temple, the Silver Hand's vanguard had already established New Hearthglen. Patrick's Sunlight City had a fairly good relationship with the Lordaeron Remnants there. Maxwell, Abbendis, Demetria, and the others had always regarded the High Elves as their only allies, as well as the major power that had continued supporting them after the Scourge. If the Sunfury Legion put down roots here and established contact with New Hearthglen, Wyrmrest Temple would be the only place on Dragonblight's southern coast outside Patrick's control.
After the High Elf army occupied Kilva Reef and the Isle of the Ocean's Summit, construction began in full swing. This would become a permanent base for the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas in Dragonblight.
