"Perhaps that is a good idea." A gleam flashed in Rokir's eyes. "Through the hands of others, we can show His Majesty the great Lich King that we are his faithful servants, and that we alone are the true core of the Scourge."
The Death Knights had no connections whatsoever with the liches, and the Scourge was hardly a monolithic force. Whatever the Lich King did, he was still only one person. With so many skeletons and zombies under his command, how could a single mind control them all? In the end, the Lich King delegated authority, letting his subordinates control them. However, the Scourge maintained an extremely strict hierarchy, a system in which even one rank's difference gave absolute authority, and subordinates obeyed their superiors unconditionally.
"Once those mortals actually breach the Ironwall Rampart, we can strike out through Koresa, the Gate of Fear, then have Layshan, the supreme commander of the Shadow Vault, lead an army to cut off their retreat. The mortals' defeat and destruction will be foreseeable."
"Then, for now, have every Death Knight in the Valley of Fallen Heroes return to the garrison at Gezi. Meanwhile, all Death Knights in Malykriss, whether apprentices or followers, are to proceed to the Court of Bones and await orders. Let us hope those mortals are worthy opponents and do not disappoint us."
"Actually, I prefer fighting." Belok narrowed his eyes and stroked the Runeblade in his hand. The Vrykul's warlike nature was no secret, and it was precisely this trait that had led the Lich King to create these minions.
"But construction of the new floating city will be delayed by many days." Saff was somewhat worried. After all, this was an order issued personally by the Lich King, and no one in the Scourge dared disobey it.
