"The Lich King is dead?" Sylvanas arrived late and saw Arthas's corpse nearby, along with the Helm of Domination in Tirion's hands. "The Lich King is dead. The Lich King is dead."
Seeing her great vengeance fulfilled, Sylvanas lost the last shred of conviction that had sustained her body and slumped to the ground.
Patrick watched Sylvanas's reaction. In his memories, after the Lich King died, Sylvanas leaped straight from the Frozen Throne, her body shattering at the foot of Icecrown Citadel. But afterward, to escape the new Lich King's control, Annhylde sacrificed her own life to save Sylvanas. At the same time, the remaining eight Val'kyr bound themselves to Sylvanas in life and death.
During the Scourge invasion, Patrick and Sylvanas had disagreed. In the end, Sylvanas left the Floating City and led her troops in search of the elves who had ignored the warnings and returned to the ground on their own. Then she discovered signs of a traitor within the Scourge. When she returned to Bann'donor and was about to report to the Council, the Council betrayed her instead. She died in battle at Bann'donor and became the Dark Lady she was today.
"We certainly cannot gamble with Azeroth's future. The problem of the Scourge must be properly resolved." Garrosh put away his battle-axe. The orcs had finally found somewhere to settle, free from enslavement by demons. How could they abandon Azeroth, their new home?
"There will always be a way to resolve it," Patrick offered kindly in reassurance. "At least the Scourge is a spent force now."
"But we cannot leave all our troops here to clear out the remaining Scourge," Krasus immediately countered. "This world still faces dangers. The problems of the Emerald Nightmare and Ulduar both need to be addressed."
