Patrick led the army back to Quel'Thalas. Of the people of Gilneas who followed them, those willing to go with Tirion Fordring were settled in New Faolun City, while those willing to follow the high elves were settled in Quelrins City.
After the Scourge in the Eastern Plaguelands was destroyed, Hawkspear and Brigitte Abbendis had continued organizing efforts to clear out the remaining undead while removing the plague's contamination from the land. Overall, the land around Quelrins City and New Faolun City had essentially returned to normal.
Many people were willing to go to Quelrins City. At least it was a large urban complex, a city built between three military bases, so its safety was surely guaranteed. In everyone's eyes, at least, Quel'Thalas was unquestionably one of the most powerful nations in Azeroth. Most importantly, from an ordinary farmer's perspective, the high elves' agricultural taxes were much lower, making life in Quelrins City comfortable.
The Eastern Plaguelands was now far safer than before. At least under ordinary circumstances, travelers on the main roads between cities would basically see no undead, nor were there any bands of undead appearing under the command of a Scourge Lord.
As for the territory inside Elfgate, Patrick would not let people enter casually. That was the high elves' heartland, and maintaining their absolute dominance required their population to hold an overwhelming majority. Among those now living within Quel'Thalas, there were only a small number of naga, humans who had contributed to Quel'Thalas during the Second War and were still alive, and the offspring of those animal gods. The wind serpents, cobras, lynxes, mammoths, and rhinos all lived in Eversong Woods.
The Alliance and the Horde sent out information about the natural disasters they had just suffered, and Quel'Thalas naturally received a copy as well. It
