Background / History
Life before transmigration
Qi Jun grew up as an orphan at Feilu Orphanage on a parallel Earth. Through determination and experience surviving in society, he became financially comfortable enough to outperform many white-collar workers. Despite describing himself as ruthless, he had lived as an ordinary civilian without firsthand experience of bloodshed 1 3 13.
He was transported while watching Avengers: Endgame during its final theatrical screening. His own body and possessions crossed over with him, including his childhood scar, hoodie, Huawei P30, and identification card 1 2 10.
Arrival in New York
Qi Jun appeared near Stark Tower during Iron Man’s battle with Iron Monger. Recognizing the scene, he immediately concealed his face and fled with the crowd rather than approaching Tony Stark. He feared both the impending Arc Reactor overload and the possibility that S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra would discover that he had no records in this world 1 2 3.
In Chinatown, he sold a Guanyin Jade Pendant that had originally cost over 100,000 yuan for only $800. He then found an inn that required no identification, checked the room for surveillance, and bonded with the Mutated Reality Stone while resting 3.
His first attempt to absorb electricity caused a transformer explosion and blackout. To withstand the resulting police scrutiny, he used the stone to create valid Eastern Ancient Country identification, a passport, and a tourist visa. These documents allowed him to pass two federal police checks while leaving Chinatown 7 10.
Hell’s Kitchen scavenging
Qi Jun entered Hell’s Kitchen to obtain energy from the dead. He created a black outfit, a convincing toy gun, and Infiltrator Sunglasses before approaching a gang battle. Although initially frightened by live gunfire, he continued after recalling the stone’s regenerative protection 11 12 13.
He recycled bodies and collected abandoned cash while the gangs fought. A stray bullet struck his arm, giving him direct confirmation that the stone could expel a bullet and rapidly restore damaged flesh; the pain nevertheless discouraged him from exposing himself to concentrated gunfire 14 16 17.
When Big Daddy and Hit-Girl intervened, Qi Jun initially mistook Big Daddy for Batman before identifying the pair. He secretly implanted a tracking biochip beneath Hit-Girl’s skin so he could follow their activities and collect the bodies they left behind. He returned to Chinatown with 21.5 energy points after already spending three points on the tracker 19 21 22 23.
Establishing an identity and skills
Qi Jun subsequently reinforced his identity with fabricated memories among people at his listed address in the Eastern Ancient Country. His earlier travel documents were replaced with items including a green card, driver’s license, bank cards, and credit cards. After these arrangements, his reserve stood at fourteen energy points, and he moved into an apartment transferred into his name 24 25.
He experimented with reducing manifestation costs through raw materials and technical knowledge. He then solved his immediate language problem by creating and absorbing an English Proficiency Skill Book 26 28 29 30.
After discovering sunlight absorption and stone-assisted physical conditioning, Qi Jun tracked Big Daddy and Hit-Girl to a secluded safe house. There, he copied both of their firearms expertise, absorbed the resulting Skill Books, and manifested a functional Glock 19 with one magazine of ammunition 37 39 43 45 46.
Pursuit of larger energy sources
Qi Jun concluded that corpse scavenging could not support his long-term development. He planned to obtain the Infinity Stones, using First-Generation Arc Reactors as an intermediate energy source and considering Ivan Vanko as a potential reactor producer. These were plans rather than completed acquisitions 32.
His research uncovered Oscorp and a twelve-year-old Harry Osborn, prompting him to investigate which versions of familiar characters existed. He considered copying Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense but postponed the idea because of the likely energy cost 33.
The events surrounding Hulk and Abomination offered another prospective opportunity. Qi Jun identified Samuel Sterns’s replicated Hulk blood as a major energy source and considered turning Sterns into a loyal, enhanced subordinate. He also viewed Abomination as a valuable recycling target, but had not acted on these plans by the end of the supplied passages 49 50.
Appearance
Qi Jun retains his original body after transmigration, recognizing it through familiar clothing, possessions, and an old injury 2.
- Hands: Fair and clean, but noticeably rough from years of fending for himself 2.
- Scar: Located on the back of his left hand, left by a childhood fight with someone who bullied him 2.
- Arrival clothing: A hooded sweatshirt worn for the rainy weather on the day he visited the cinema 2.
- Operational outfit: A manifested Men in Black-style black outfit with sunglasses 11 12.
Personality
Qi Jun is cautious, resourceful, and strongly motivated by self-preservation. He avoids intelligence agencies, checks rooms for surveillance, and prefers a verifiable foreign identity over an easily disproved American background. His caution predates his powers and stems partly from growing up without family support 2 3 10.
His ambition grows alongside his understanding of the stone. He vows to become the strongest, but does not regard possessing a powerful artifact as a substitute for effort. He deliberately pushes his body during travel and rejects the idea that someone’s eventual strength is completely fixed at birth 5 43 49.
His attitude toward violence is pragmatic and morally conflicted. He eagerly treats corpses as energy resources and approves of heroes who kill dangerous criminals, yet remains reluctant to kill personally. He acquires a firearm for circumstances in which restraint would endanger him 16 22 46.
Qi Jun explicitly rejects becoming a superhero for the United States and instead chooses neutrality. Although deeply attached to his original Chinese upbringing, he also recognizes that the Eastern Ancient Country of this world is not literally his former homeland 47.
Abilities & Skills
Mutated Reality Stone
The Mutated Reality Stone is bonded to Qi Jun but is not yet fully under his control 6.
- Possesses the abilities of the Marvel Reality Stone, along with additional functions 4 41.
- Adapts to the fundamental nature of different universes rather than becoming ineffective outside its original universe 4.
- Does not drain Qi Jun’s life force and has no independent intelligence or mission-issuing system 3 4.
- Requires Qi Jun to supply usable energy for deliberate effects; its enormous internal energy remains inaccessible to him 6 41.
- Indicates that even manifesting a true god is possible, but only at an enormous energy cost 41 42.
- The opening scene depicts Qi Jun repeatedly restoring beings erased by Thanos’s snaps; this capability is shown separately from his energy-limited early development 1.
Energy Absorption and Recycling
Qi Jun can actively absorb energy into a dedicated reserve, while the stone independently absorbs harmful energy for protection 4 6.
- Initial division: The stone takes half of energy actively absorbed through it. Greater control is expected to improve Qi Jun’s share 6.
- Passive absorption: Its proceeds belong to the stone, not Qi Jun’s usable reserve 5.
- Electricity: Can be absorbed through direct contact, with intensity controlled by his intent 7.
- Sunlight: Provides a net gain when actively absorbed, but causes burning pain and bodily damage while passive maintenance is suppressed 39 40.
- Corpse recycling: Removes remains, blood, clothing, and embedded bullets without leaving visible traces 14.
- Collection limits: Bodies must be within five meters and visible to him; their remaining life energy dissipates completely within an hour of death 22 32.
Regeneration and Passive Defense
The stone continuously protects Qi Jun, but does not make him unconditionally immortal 4 5.
- Expels foreign projectiles and rapidly repairs wounds, demonstrated when his arm is shot 16.
- Can restore severe bodily damage provided he is not instantly destroyed beyond recovery 5.
- Absorbs mental and soul energy; invading telepaths risk injury or worse 4 5.
- Does not eliminate pain, starvation, or the need for oxygen 5 17 26.
- Can fail against instantaneous bodily destruction or sufficiently overwhelming conditions, such as being thrown into the sun 5.
Concealment and Detection Interference
The stone prevents supernatural scrutiny of Qi Jun’s arrival and absorbs signals used to detect him 5 38.
- Blocks detection wavelengths including electromagnetic signals, infrared radiation, infrasound, and ultrasound 38.
- Makes him impossible for surveillance devices to capture, independently of his sunglasses 43.
- Conceals his arrival from the Ancient One and the New York Sanctum’s sorcerers 5.
- Offers undeveloped possibilities such as gravity absorption and flight; Qi Jun has not learned to use them at this stage 38.
Manifestation and Reality Alteration
Qi Jun realizes effects through intent and sufficient energy, including creating objects, repairing damage, and modifying identity records and memories 8 10 24.
| Preparation | Relative Energy Cost |
|---|---|
| Neither relevant knowledge nor suitable materials | Highest; the stone must realize the idea with minimal assistance 42. |
| Either suitable materials or detailed knowledge | Reduced compared with an unsupported idea 43. |
| Both detailed knowledge and suitable materials | Lowest-cost approach identified in his experiments 43. |
- A Glock 19 based only on its name and appearance costs one energy point; supplying scrap materials lowers the quoted cost to 0.7 points 26.
- With complete manufacturing knowledge, he later creates a Glock 19 without supplied materials for 0.7 points and its ammunition for another 0.3 points 46.
Skill Book Creation and Assimilation
Qi Jun can copy selected expertise into physical books and absorb it almost instantly 29 30 45 46.
- English: Acquires listening, speaking, reading, and writing experience copied from an elderly man 30.
- Firearms: Gains Big Daddy’s and Hit-Girl’s separate practical experience, including weapon handling, assembly, manufacturing knowledge, and ammunition designs 45 46.
- Selective copying: Uses only relevant memories; copying an entire lifetime could threaten his sense of identity 30.
- Energy limits: Stronger abilities require greater expenditure. A proposed basic enhancement to a firearms Skill Book costs 100 points, beyond his available resources at the time 32 45.
- Current limitation: He considers the pair’s assassin-oriented expertise insufficient for his goal of becoming a firearms all-rounder 48.
