The newcomer was none other than Anyo. With his Wood Release, he had arrived early and watched the entire battle between the two. Shisui still had the same old bad habit he had during the Third Shinobi World War: he liked to hold back. His raw strength far surpassed Danzo's, yet he fought hesitantly, afraid to give it his all lest he accidentally kill Danzo.
Danzo was different. Almost every move he made was meant to kill. It was no easy feat for Shisui to have lasted this long.
"You actually showed up. When did you get here?" Danzo's expression changed drastically. Anyo's existence had weighed on his heart like a shadow all this time. After the Nine-Tails Rampage, the man had disappeared. Danzo had even asked Sarutobi about him, only to be told that he was on a secret mission. He had never expected the man on that secret mission to reappear before him now, at such a critical moment.

Danzo quickly regained his composure and snorted. "Now I remember. He was once a member of your Anbu squad. Why didn't you come out to help him? You just want this eye too, don't you?"
Anyo's gaze flickered as he replied, "That's one reason. The second is that Shisui once chose to stand by and do nothing. I'm merely following his example."
If Shisui had chosen to rescue his squadmates over his clan back then, Haku could not possibly have died, given Shisui's strength. At the very least, holding out until Anyo arrived would not have been a problem.
Naturally, Danzo knew nothing of this. His gaze wandered over their surroundings, apparently searching for
