The Rinnegan!
When he was very young, Anyo had once entertained the idea of obtaining it. But as he learned more about this world, he had long since abandoned that thought. Fundamentally, the Rinnegan was nothing good. Possessing it did grant tremendous power, but even more than that, it was a shackle.
According to his and Tobirama's conjecture, the appearance of the Rinnegan was not so simple. In terms of bloodline, Kikyo was a combination of the Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan, so there was indeed a chance that she could develop the Rinnegan. But that chance was too small, so small that it was almost impossible. There was only one explanation: someone had tampered with things.
At that thought, Anyo burned with anxiety. Someone had targeted his daughter, and he had known nothing about it.
Without a word, Anyo left with Kikyo, his eyes already transformed into the Mangekyō. Almost tangible killing intent surged out with virtually no restraint. It was Kikyo's first time seeing Anyo so terrifying, and she curled up fearfully in his arms, not daring to make a sound.
After reaching an open space, Anyo took out the token he had once obtained in Ryūchi Cave. He channeled senjutsu to activate it, and an invisible spatial force enveloped them both. Together, they vanished from the spot.
Inside the Hokage Office, Tsunade and Jiraiya both looked bewildered.
