Anyo secretly shaped battles on several fronts, from the Third Raikage’s death to Konoha’s clash with Kirigakure, while tending to Mei Terumi and uncovering Danzo’s schemes. He joined Minato’s mission to destroy Kannabi Bridge and ended the stretch protecting Kakashi, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara as they began their dangerous assignment.

• Anyo secretly spared Kakuzu, recruited him to help the Zero Organization, and returned to Sunagakure, where Sasori demonstrated his Ryūmyaku-powered puppets and revealed his plan for Megatron.
• Anyo joined Minato’s mission against Kannabi Bridge, then infiltrated Iwagakure as Hunt and helped lead the force that killed the Third Raikage, while Deidara grew attached to explosive art.
• Anyo learned the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were heading for Konoha and rescued Mei Terumi from Might Duy’s final attack, then brought her into the village as Kirigakure’s assault began.
• Anyo treated Mei Terumi while Konoha repelled Kirigakure, and he predicted that Kirigakure would ally with Kumogakure as Shisui prepared to join the Kumogakure battlefield.
• Danzo’s deal with Hanzō led to Yahiko’s death and Nagato’s summoning of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, while Anyo ordered Rasa to take charge of Sunagakure and told Mei Terumi to return to Kirigakure.
• Anyo disguised Mei Terumi as himself to leave Konoha, then joined Minato, Kakashi, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara as Ye for the Kannabi Bridge mission.
• Kakashi charged into battle with Chidori, but Minato rescued him and ordered the team to withdraw, after Anyo explained Hatake Sakumo’s death, Minato split the group and left the young ninja in Anyo’s care.

Anyo confronted Madara Uchiha’s schemes and prepared to defend Kikyo Mountain against the Four-Nation Allied Forces. He destroyed much of the invading army with the mountain’s eruption and a poison trap, then entered the battle with a new sword technique.

• Anyo tracked Obito to Madara Uchiha, who revealed that he had once planned to control him and then threatened Haku.
• Anyo searched for Haku after she fell into the sea, but his search exhausted him, and Sasori and Kakuzu took him to Tsunade for treatment.
• After learning that more than twenty thousand allied ninja were heading for Kikyo Mountain, Anyo prepared a defense with Orochimaru, Sasori, Kakuzu, and Hanzō.
• Anyo poisoned Tsunade and sent Yugao to take her to Konoha, then summoned Tobirama Senju to help defend the mountain.
• Anyo and Tobirama Senju used explosive tags, Kikyo Mountain’s eruption, and their combined techniques to devastate the allied army.
• Anyo trapped the surviving allied forces inside the Four Red Yang Formation as the Pot Poison Technique spread through the battlefield.
• The surviving ninja sealed themselves inside an Earth Release Barrier, where Manda and other summoned creatures attacked them.
• Anyo accepted Tobirama Senju’s offer to teach him Konoha-style swordsmanship and created the Weapon Control Technique.

Anyo ended the Third Shinobi World War at Kikyo Mountain, then returned to Konoha and became Anbu Chief as Minato took office. As the village entered a new era, Anyo pursued ways to overcome his Mangekyō Sharingan’s weakness and sought access to Orochimaru’s Wood Release research.

• Anyo unleashed poison and venomous creatures at Kikyo Mountain, killing the Allied Forces, then sealed Tobirama Senju before freeing him to discuss the Sharingan’s flaw.
• The Five Kage agreed to contain the poisoned dead zone and withdrew from the war, while Anyo released Tobirama Senju and returned to Konoha.
• Anyo confessed to Minato that he had killed twenty thousand Allied Forces troops, proposed changing the Shinobi World together, and was refused.
• Anyo learned that Obito had witnessed Rin’s death and slaughtered Kirigakure Ninja, while Hiruzen appointed Anyo as Anbu Chief and Minato as the next Hokage.
• Anyo investigated Danzo’s forbidden Wood Release experiments, supported Minato’s Hokage bid, and later welcomed Kakashi into the Anbu and agreed to keep training Yugao.
• Anyo arranged for Sasori to hold Niannian’s daughter, promoted Five Nations Kill despite Minato’s objections, and attended Minato and Kushina’s wedding after learning they were expecting a child.
• Anyo gave Minato protective medicine, left Konoha to meet Orochimaru, and asked to join the Wood Release Experiment with Danzo.

Anyo survived the Nine-Tails attack, saved Minato from death, and began training to overcome the seal threatening his life. As the Uchiha conflict reached its breaking point, he rescued Mikoto from the massacre and then entered Ryūchi Cave to seek its senjutsu inheritance.

• Anyo created a Wood Release clone with a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, returned to Konoha, and was present when Sasuke was born before telling Kurenai Yuhi he intended to leave until he changed the world.
• During the Nine-Tails attack, Anyo fought Pain, found Minato and Kushina mortally wounded, and failed to reverse time, and he used Kushina’s soul in the Reaper’s sacrifice, saved Minato with half the Nine-Tails, and took them to Orochimaru.
• Orochimaru warned Anyo that a seal was killing him, while Anyo arranged for Minato’s soul to inhabit Sasori’s Bumblebee puppet and secured Hiruzen Sarutobi’s agreement to let him secretly rescue someone if Konoha and the Uchiha became enemies.
• At Shikkotsu Forest, Anyo trained with Katsuyu and Hashirama, mastered Sage Mode, and learned that it weakened the seal but could not cure him.
• As tensions rose between Konoha and the Uchiha, Shisui sought Anyo’s help, but Danzo ambushed him and stole one of his Sharingan, and Anyo recovered the eye, and Shisui gave his remaining eye to Itachi before dying.
• Anyo prepared a Mikoto clone and secretly took the real Mikoto from the Uchiha massacre, using Kotoamatsukami to make Itachi believe he had killed both parents before Genno escorted Mikoto away.
• Anyo followed Orochimaru to Ryūchi Cave, passed Tagorihime, Ichikishimahime, and Tagitsuhime’s trials, and asked the White Snake Sage to teach him senjutsu.
• The White Snake Sage bit Anyo, whose body began swelling and taking on snake-like features, and she suddenly exclaimed in surprise as the snake princesses prepared to divide him.
