Wang Chong had killed four men with a single stroke, yet something remained pent up in his chest. These four had been too weak to let him bring the subtleties of Sword Illuminates Sun and Moon to their peak. They had all died before he could even unleash many of its variations. He waved for Su Luoyan not to approach and recited in a lilting voice, "A sword at my side for a dozen years and more; wine raised to invite the moon, I question the southern sky!" He struck at the moon.

Su Luoyan had never seen such a wondrous sight in her life. Strange radiance suddenly blazed from the Coiling Dragon Sword in Wang Chong's hand, and even the moon overhead seemed to dim for an instant. Then Wang Chong himself seemed to blend into the moonlight, his presence turning ethereal and elusive. Had she not been watching without blinking, she might almost have thought that this man, who troubled her and had barged into her heart, had suddenly vanished.

Only after a long while did Wang Chong put away his sword. Grinning, he said, "When I killed those four men in black just now, I didn't get to display all my swordsmanship. That stroke was especially for you, Sister Su. Wasn't it splendid?"

Su Luoyan burst out laughing. She had never imagined Wang Chong would actually complain that a killing sword technique had not shown enough intricate variations, and would even go out of his way to demonstrate the complete technique for her. Covering her mouth, she said, "I gave you that sword! Since when has it been at your side for a dozen years and more?"

Wang Chong answered without thinking, "Naturally, it'll be at my side for a dozen years and more from now on.
