[bgm: Bit by Bit](This song captures Yanyan's feelings for Fu.)
"You..." Fu Hanchuan's tongue felt stiff, his words not yet formed.
Then he saw the person before him clutch his abdomen and cover his mouth, bright red blood spilling between his fingers.
Fu Hanchuan froze for a second. In that instant, the glaring red lingered on his retinas, and immense fear surged through his entire body like a raging tide.
"Yanyan?!"
Fu Hanchuan shot to his feet, lunged forward, and caught him as he nearly fell from his chair.
Fu Hanchuan frantically gathered him into his arms, haphazardly wiping away the blood pouring out.
Wen Yanyu was deathly pale. He wanted to explain his condition, but his stomach hurt so badly that every word came out as a cry of pain.
The unease deep in his heart was confirmed completely.
"What did you take!" Watching the blood keep pouring out, Fu Hanchuan spoke faster and faster. "Did you take something! Wen Yanyu! Talk to me! What did you take!"
Wen Yanyu gasped for breath. His stomach and chest hurt agonizingly, and amid the churning turmoil, blood surged out uncontrollably.
Looking at the utterly panicked man before him, Wen Yanyu instinctively wanted to reach out and comfort him, to tell him he wouldn't die.
As long as the plot hadn't run its course, he wouldn't die.
He wanted to apologize for disrupting his life.
He wanted to ask Fu Hanchuan, why, why do you still care about me when I've hurt you like this?
Why don't you hate me? Why don't you take revenge on me like those people? Why don't you vent your anger on me?
You don't owe me anything.
You should hate me.
Wen Yanyu looked into those gray-blue eyes shrouded in panic and worry. His emotions surged wildly, and waves of intense pain tore through his chest.
Endless bitter waters surrounded him. He couldn't struggle free, couldn't breathe.
His heart ached with bitterness, every breath steeped in it, and huge tears rolled from his eyes.
Fu Hanchuan.
I'm just cannon fodder in your story.
I'm the one who hurt you.
You should hate me.
Blood surged up his throat, choking him as he coughed. He couldn't get a single word out, and his crumbling emotions left him crying uncontrollably. His consciousness began to fade with the severe pain.
"I'll take you to the hospital. Come on, the hospital. We're going to the hospital."
Fu Hanchuan's face was pale, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
Knowing he couldn't drive in this state, he grabbed his phone from the table and frantically searched his contacts until he finally found him.
The instant the call connected, Fu Hanchuan practically roared, "Wan Haihui, drive over to my place! Hurry!"
Wan Haihui, just woken by the ringing phone, looked irritated. Hearing the agitated voice on the other end dispelled most of his sleepiness in an instant. He scrambled out of bed, threw on some clothes, and headed out.
Fu Hanchuan had a cold disposition and rarely panicked like this, so something urgent had most likely happened. They lived in the same area, and within minutes, Wan Haihui pulled up outside Fu Hanchuan's home.
He had barely poked his head out when he saw Fu Hanchuan emerge from the house with someone in his arms.
The car door slammed shut.
Fu Hanchuan shouted at him, "Drive! Take us to the hospital!"
Seeing both of them covered in blood, Wan Haihui's eyes widened. He forgot about prying, stepped on the accelerator, and drove toward the hospital.
Wen Yanyu leaned against the man's chest, his white hair dull and his face smeared with tears. He cried so hard he could barely breathe, coughing and vomiting.
The young man was crying terribly, and every sob brought more blood.
Fu Hanchuan was utterly panicked. He grabbed a blanket from the car and wrapped him in it, holding him in his arms, afraid to let go but also afraid to hold him too tightly.
All he could do was try in vain to warm the icy body in his arms.
"Yanyan, Yanyan, don't cry. Please don't cry. You can't cry anymore. Don't cry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have snapped at you. Don't cry. I won't snap at you anymore. I'll never snap at you again."
As Fu Hanchuan called to him, he held his hand tightly. Bone-piercing cold seeped through his palm, and his heart clenched so tightly he couldn't draw a breath.
Wen Yanyu's vision was blurred. He couldn't tell where he was or hear anything. Only the bitter scent of agarwood beside him told him who was there.
"I'm sorry, it's all my, fault. I didn't want this. I, didn't want, to hurt, you. I'm sorry, but the plot, won't..."
"I, can't, control myself. Fu, Hanchuan, I'm sorry. I don't want to."
I don't want to hurt you.
But I can't do it.
I can't even decide my own death.
My death is destined to become a sharp blade that hurts you. I wanted to end it myself, but I still failed.
Wen Yanyu's face crumpled, his black lashes completely soaked with tears. His fragmented words wouldn't form a clear sentence.
In his extreme panic, Fu Hanchuan had no attention to spare for listening.
Exhausted drowsiness washed over him. His calves kept spasming and twitching with the pain, and Wen Yanyu slowly closed his eyes, slumping limply into the man's arms, leaving only blood.
The person in his arms went still. Fu Hanchuan's pupils contracted sharply, his heart gave a heavy thud, and panic distorted his voice.
"I don't blame you! I don't blame you! Yanyan! Don't sleep, don't sleep, Yanyan! Don't sleep! Can you hear me! Yanyan! Yanyan! Open your eyes and look at me! Yanyan!"
Wan Haihui glanced into the rearview mirror a couple of times and sped toward the hospital.
Fuck, what the hell was all this?
When he woke again, there was a familiar smell of disinfectant.
Wen Yanyu slowly opened his eyes. Before his brain could catch up, the smell of disinfectant instantly awakened terrifying memories, and his body instinctively wanted to scream.
"Wen Yanyu."
A familiar voice entered his ears, weary and indifferent.
Wen Yanyu stiffly shifted his gaze and met a pair of blue eyes whose emotions he couldn't read.
His brain stalled for a long time before he realized.
You're home.
Wen Yanyu, you're home.
"I'm sorry for causing you trouble again." Wen Yanyu's lashes trembled faintly, his voice hoarse and shaking.
He held back his uncontrollable terror by digging his fingertips into his palm.
Fu Hanchuan lowered his eyes and watched him quietly.
"Wen Yanyu, let's have nothing to do with each other from now on."
Silence hung in the air for a long time.
Then came breaths trembling with fear.
"Okay..."
Fu Hanchuan stood, his tone flat. "The doctor performed a gastroscopy. Acute stress-induced gastritis."
"Keep your emotions under control. I've paid the bill. Stay in the hospital for a few days, and remember to pick up your medication."
With that, his footsteps receded, and the hospital room door was gently closed.
Wen Yanyu turned toward the ceiling and squeezed his eyes shut.
Don't be afraid. Don't scream. Don't scream. Don't cry. Don't scream. Don't scream. Don't cause trouble for anyone else. Don't cry.
You're home.
Don't be afraid.
Wen Yanyu.
Don't be afraid. No one will hurt you anymore.
You're home.
Outside the door, Wan Haihui, who had just been about to come in to check on things and had been forced to hear the entire exchange, came face-to-face with Fu Hanchuan.
"Not looking after him anymore?" Wan Haihui raised an eyebrow.
Fu Hanchuan's face was grim, and he didn't answer.
Wan Haihui glanced at the hospital room, then at Fu Hanchuan, and followed him outside.
On the way back, the driver who had arrived took the wheel. Wan Haihui dozed for a bit, then was just about to pat Fu Hanchuan and ask him for the gossip.
But as soon as he looked up, he saw the man repeatedly glancing out the window, his hands still trembling around the blanket.
Wan Haihui clicked his tongue softly and forcibly swallowed his words.
If you're so worried, why leave?
These two...
Seriously...
Before you continue
