Early the next morning, Radeus and Rudeus went to Roxy and described what had happened with the Healing Spell.
"Red Healing Spell?"
"Yes, and its effects are pretty outrageous!" Radeus nodded in confirmation.
The three went out into the courtyard. Roxy suggested checking its exact effects and found an insect that had been dead for a long time.
"Give it a try!"
Radeus nodded and began casting Greater Healing Magic.
After a flash of red light, the insect's exterior was restored to perfect condition, but the insect itself did not come back to life.
Next, Roxy found another insect that had only recently died and brought it to Radeus to try again. This time, the insect quickly came back to life.
"You're a genius, Rad! How on earth did you do that?" Now even Roxy was shocked.
Healing magic that could revive lives lost only a short time ago-surely that fell within the realm of god-tier magic? And without an incantation, at that!
"At first, I was just practicing intermediate Healing Spells, but as I kept practicing, it turned into this. I'm not really sure what happened!"
Radeus shook his head, not really understanding what had happened either.
He felt the only explanation was that this might be an evolved Reverse Cursed Technique. Other than that, Radeus could not think of any reason for it.
After all, the abilities he had received in the reincarnation space were all from the Jujutsu side. He had no magic-related cheats.
So the best explanation was that his abilities had been strengthened during reincarnation, enhancing the effects of Reverse Cursed Technique.
But if this was Reverse Cursed Technique, did that mean his Cursed Technique was about to awaken too?
Limitless, Malevolent Shrine, Ten Shadows Technique-just thinking about them is exciting!
With those, wouldn't I basically be Sukuna with Six Eyes and Ten Shadows?
They went on to conduct more experiments and reached the following conclusion:
Radeus's Healing Spell could revive any living organism that had been dead for no more than four hours. It would also restore its body to peak condition, and upon revival, not only would it have full health, but all negative effects would be cleared as well.
Even when it was not being cast on dead organisms, for the living, whether it was a severed limb or an illness, nothing was a problem as long as they had Radeus's Healing Spell.
All-purpose! This Healing Spell could only be described as all-purpose, without any shortcomings!
As long as Radeus had not run out of mana, he could keep using the Healing Spell.
And although Radeus's total mana was far below Rudeus's, his own reserves were still terrifyingly vast. With Six Eyes regulating it as well, it was effectively infinite mana.
This meant that as long as Radeus did not die, he could keep healing, and killing him would require exhausting his mana. But Radeus's mana consumption was practically zero...
An endless loop!
"Listen carefully, Rad. You must never tell outsiders about this. Once word spreads, you'll become someone everyone in this world will fight over."
"Because having you would be the same as having a way to resurrect people at will. That wouldn't be good for you or for this world."
Roxy spoke gravely to Radeus, afraid that, being so young, he might go around telling everyone about it.
Once the news leaked, if people with ulterior motives exploited it, they could use Radeus to build an immortal army, and the situation on the continent would change in an instant.
It would be no exaggeration to call Radeus someone who could change the world single-handedly!
Radeus and Rudeus naturally understood this too, and both promised they would never tell anyone.
"But we still need to tell Mr. Paul and Zenith!" Roxy said.
Paul, Zenith, and Lilia were also stunned when they heard what Roxy had to say, though Radeus and Rudeus had shocked them so many times over the years that they had grown somewhat immune.
"Understood. Until Radeus becomes strong, it's best if this stays between us," Paul said solemnly.
Radeus was highly talented, and until he had grown into his strength, this absolutely could not be leaked.
A few days passed, and Radeus and Rudeus were discussing magic in the courtyard.
"Single-element magic alone doesn't have enough power or flexibility. What do you think about fusing different kinds of magic into Compound Magic?"
Rudeus looked at the ball of water condensed before him as he spoke to Radeus.
"Compound Magic? How are you planning to do it?" Radeus glanced at Rudeus.
Radeus was not as good as Rudeus when it came to magic, and he admitted it. After all, he had not read many magic-themed novels or watched many anime of that sort. Compared to a hardcore shut-in like Rudeus, who had lived in the holy land of anime culture, he still had a long way to go.
(This was a lie. As a proper veteran anime fan, how could Radeus possibly have watched few magic-themed anime? His muscles were simply wired to his brain now, and throwing punches had replaced thinking.)
But when it came to immortal cultivation and the like, Radeus could wipe the floor with Rudeus!
Do you even understand what "Once a golden core enters my belly, my fate belongs to me, not heaven" means?
Now, neither of them was satisfied with single-element magic anymore. They wanted to further improve magic's practicality and flexibility.
Radeus also had questions about this world's magic.
Why was magic so versatile, yet there was no category of everyday magic for farming and daily life?
Radeus's brain, which had been idle for so long, began to turn.
In Radeus's words, "How could magic possibly be something so inconvenient!"
"I'm planning to combine water magic and fire magic first and see if I can make hot water. Keep an eye on things for me, and if anything goes wrong, help me keep the mana under control!" Rudeus told Radeus.
Rudeus did not know why, but Radeus's control over mana had already reached an unbelievable level.
He could even control the flow of mana inside other people's bodies, so whenever Rudeus experimented with magic, he always had Radeus stand guard.
If anything abnormal happened, Radeus could quickly take control of the mana and prevent an accident.
"Okay, give it a try!"
Rudeus first used Water Ball to create a ball of water, then converted his mana to the fire element to heat it.
The steps were simple. The difficult part was using and adjusting the mana; too much or too little would lead to failure.
After some fine-tuning, Rudeus finally found the right method.
The water in the ball was successfully heated into hot water, with steam rising from it. Radeus leaned over to test the temperature, and it was just right for washing his hair and bathing.
"Not bad! Hot water whenever we want!"
Seeing Rudeus's Compound Magic succeed meant that using multiple elements of magic at once was a viable path.
If multiple elements could be combined, Radeus wondered whether some spells could be recreated.
For example, the magic of Frieren from "New Century Frieren Evangelion" and old Bones of "No Cock to Speak Of"?
When it came to magic, those two were fairly versatile, with all sorts of spells that were worth drawing on.
"Great, let's keep trying all kinds of magic!"
Rudeus was thrilled. He had not expected to succeed right away. Sure enough, he, Rudeus, was a genius!
After practicing for half a day, Rudeus worked out several ways to use magic. For example, water plus fire could create hot water, but raising the fire's temperature to evaporate the water could produce a patch of mist.
With enough mana, he could create fog that left others unable to tell which direction they were going. Another example was combining earth and water to form a swamp that restricted other people's movements.
At this, Radeus and Rudeus exclaimed:
"Magic really is both wondrous and scientific!"
