"Yeah! Easy!"

Radeus gave himself a thumbs-up.

"Time to tell the XP leeches to come clean up!"

A small, multicolored fireball flew into the sky and burst like a firework.

"That's..."

Paul saw the colorful fireworks in the sky and realized this must be the signal Radeus had mentioned.

"Looks like he's in trouble. Now it's my time to shine!"

It never occurred to Paul that Radeus had wiped out the pack of several hundred wolves by himself. Mainly, it had been too quick. Less than a minute had passed since Radeus left; even a Sword King couldn't have been that fast.

Besides, Radeus probably hadn't used any magic, or there would have been quite a commotion.

"Guys, hurry up! We're going to back him up!"

Paul waved his arm and led everyone toward Radeus.

Before long, Paul's group arrived at the place where Radeus had sent up the flare.

"Stay alert!"

Everyone tightened their grip on their weapons, ready for a fight that could break out at any moment.

"Hey!"

A familiar voice came from behind Paul's group, giving them a fright.

"Who's there!"

Paul hurriedly looked back, only to find Radeus.

"Oh, it's you, Rad. Where are the wolves?"

"Gone!" Radeus spread his hands.

"What do you mean, gone?"

Paul was completely baffled. Had the wolves all retreated?

Surely not? Had their kids been born back home?

"Gone means gone. I wiped them out!"

"Heh, Rad, I know you're competitive, but you can try fooling other people, not your dad. You're saying you wiped out a pack of around two hundred wolves all by yourself, and in under a minute, too. Then let me ask you this: where are their bodies?"

Paul looked disdainful. Radeus was terrible at lying. He could at least make his story sound convincing!
