Behind a pillar, Chi An and Fu Yanci stood at the front, peeking out to secretly watch the two people sitting ahead.
"How's it going? Did it work out? It's been ages. That girl's never usually this coy, is she?" An Muran stood behind Chi An with one hand on his shoulder.
"Can you see? Want me to lift you up?" Chi Su wrapped an arm around An Muran's waist, steadying her to make sure she wouldn't fall while standing on tiptoe.
An Muran waved a hand. "No need. The suspense is killing me. I really like watching Xiao Chu's shows. If Ranran wins him over, wouldn't that mean she's landed an actor I like?"
To keep the people behind them from hearing, Fu Yanci could only lean close to Chi An's ear. "Why are those two taking so long? I want to go out there and push their heads together."
"That's just how she is. No rush. She'll hesitate for another minute at most." Knowing Chi Shuran's personality well, Chi An wasn't the least bit impatient.
Sure enough, less than a minute later, Fu Yanci saw Chi Shuran and Zhou Zhichu embrace. Both their faces were radiant with smiles, an invisible barrier forming around them that shut everyone else out.
"It worked! It worked!" An Muran cried excitedly, turning to throw herself into Chi Su's arms.
"Yes, I saw. We can ask Ranran about getting engaged later." Chi Su tightened his arms slightly and gathered An Muran into his embrace. "I'll take her home first. Remember to take Yanci to see your grandfather."
"Yes, I'll take him in a few days." Chi An nodded. The two of them took one last look at the young couple ahead, then he turned and left with Fu Yanci.
The engagement was over.
