Chi An was happy to see the siblings clash. M Country had never stipulated whether its monarch had to be male or female; whoever was capable could take the throne. For the sake of that throne, Emily and Eric would never let each other have an easy time.
Their confrontation was exactly what Chi An wanted to see. That way, no one else needed to interfere; the two of them could fight among themselves for ages.

His gaze settled on Fu Yanci's face. Eric smiled, making no attempt to hide the provocation in his eyes. "Are you that controlling, Mr. Fu? It's only a party. Surely you wouldn't mind that much?"
"Oh? This is a party? I thought it was some massive homewrecker convention." Bending to pick up his phone from the table, Fu Yanci met Eric's sour expression and added, "The wannabe kind, at that."
"Fu Yanci, for those words alone, even if you're Chi An's fiancé, the Chi Family won't be able to protect you!" Eric's good manners vanished, his expression turning completely cold.
"Letting someone humiliate you like that. What a disgrace to the royal family." Emily snorted.
Fu Yanci turned his head. "Wasn't I talking about you too, Mistress Three?"
[Sorry, I lost it at that one.]
[That suddenly reminded me of what Song Wenjing said to Chi Shuran before,
