After dinner, Zhou Zhichu and Chi Shuran cleared the table, talking quietly in the kitchen. Chi An and Fu Yanci sat in the living room a little longer before getting up to leave.
Two had come, but four left. Ren Wuyang and Gu Zijin walked ahead, while Chi An and Fu Yanci followed behind them, hand in hand.
Not far ahead, Crown Prince ran toward them and skidded to a halt in front of Ren Wuyang.
"Oh, Crown Prince~"
Ren Wuyang bent down to play with Crown Prince, and the man and dog ran off ahead. Gu Zijin walked behind them, his attention entirely on Ren Wuyang, completely unaware of the two people who had appeared on either side of him.
Chi An said, "When are you planning to tell him?"
Fu Yanci said, "Planning to keep this a secret crush forever?"
Their voices pulled Gu Zijin out of his thoughts. He glanced to either side and found himself sandwiched between them.
Gu Zijin had never intended to hide his feelings in the first place, so he wasn't surprised that the two of them had noticed. "The day he can accept me, I'll tell him."
Ren Wuyang was too innocent. Although he had Chi An and Fu Yanci as an example, most couples were still of the opposite sex. Gu Zijin worried that suddenly confessing to Ren Wuyang would put him in a difficult position.
The way they got along now was pretty good, too. What Gu Zijin wanted was to slowly work his way into Ren Wuyang's life, get him used to his presence, and gradually get him to open his heart, until it all became second nature.
When the time was right, Gu Zijin would break through that final barrier in one go and be with Ren Wuyang
