That evening, inside the Chi Corporation building, Chi An sat expressionlessly in his office, the documents his secretary had just handed him laid out before him.
"Mr. Chi, should we have the tea set you won at the last auction delivered to the old gentleman tonight?"
The old gentleman the secretary referred to was, of course, Chi An's maternal grandfather. Chi An had won the tea set at an auction he had attended with Fu Yanci two days earlier. Recently, An Huaifeng and Fu Huaizhou had somehow developed an interest in tea sets. Whenever those two got together, they discussed either orchids or the art of tea.
Sometimes, when the two of them came home from work, they would find the two little old men arguing over tea. Usually so cheerful, they would get so worked up over a minor difference of opinion that their faces turned red.
Whenever they saw this, Chi An and Fu Yanci would pretend they had seen nothing, quietly close the door, and leave.
Chi An said, "Have the assistant deliver it tonight."
The phone on his desk kept vibrating. Chi An picked it up and saw that Chi Shuran was calling.
"Hello."
"Hello?! Help me pick up Yueyue and Ranran later, will you? Zhou Zhichu and I are filming out of town, so I'm leaving them with you for the next couple of days."
Far away in J City, Chi Shuran sat in front of a makeup mirror while two makeup artists bustled around her. Beside her sat Zhou Zhichu, who was adjusting his clothes.
"Ranran told me last time that she wanted little cakes. Let your brother know." Zhou Zhichu's face was full of smiles at the mention of his precious daughter.
After marrying Chi Shuran, they had taken a year off together.
