Background / History

Green Lotus Temple was one of Jing Country’s three major powers and exercised authority over smaller sects and cultivation families in its territory. It generally allowed subordinate forces to compete independently, intervening when major treasures, serious disputes, or political boundaries were involved. Such intervention enabled it to claim valuable discoveries, including spiritual lands and rare resources, through its standing as the regional major sect. 56

The Temple maintained its mountain gate in the Green Lotus Mountain Range, whose main spiritual veins centered on Green Lotus Peak. Its territory included developed medicine fields, spirit pools, branch spiritual veins, and private cave dwellings inherited by generations of Temple cultivators. 630 638

During the conflict surrounding the Dragon Transformation Sect, Green Lotus Temple investigated rumors of half-human, half-dragon cultivators and recognized signs of the hidden sect’s activity. It subsequently fought the Black Flood Dragon at Feima Mountain with five Violet Palace cultivators and used the Two Dragons Dividing Water Formation to expose the creature’s lair. 94 95

The Temple later recruited Zhou Chun as an undercover operative against the Dragon Transformation Sect. Temple Master Qing Weizi approved a mission term of up to thirty years, promised 30,000 Spirit Coins upon Zhou Chun’s return, and provided training, intelligence, and a fabricated rogue-cultivator identity for the infiltration. 179 180

After Zhou Chun escaped the Dragon Transformation Sect, Qing Weizi cured the poison afflicting him and received the intelligence he brought back. Tensions later developed between the Temple and the increasingly powerful Zhou Family, particularly over the Zhou Family’s plan to transform its Silver Lightning Thunder Python into a flood dragon. 198 396

The Temple was eventually overrun amid the wider war involving demonic beasts. Its mountain gate fell, many disciples died while fleeing, and surviving remnants withdrew to hidden locations. Zhou Chun later pursued and eliminated the remnants at Tongmu Ridge. 630 641 649

A Hidden Vein had preserved the location of the Temple’s true secret vault within a Void Secret Realm. Zhou Chun ultimately recovered this vault, acquiring the Temple’s stored treasures, core manuals, secret techniques, and inherited records; the Green Lotus Orthodox Lineage thereafter passed into the Zhou Family. 796 798
