Zhou Mingde was the Zhou Family's Grand Elder and a Violet Palace cultivator during its early years in Jing Country. He was the elder brother of Zhou Zhengkang's great-grandfather, a connection that made Zhengkang's preferential treatment politically sensitive after the latter's betrayal. He personally led the Zhou Family's break from Yu Jinghua and the Spirit Beast Manor, preserving an independent branch of the family. Following Zhou Zhengkang's execution, Mingde confronted Yu Jinghua over Xiao Lingyan and Yu Deguan's role in inducing Zhengkang's betrayal.
