"Come on. Let's see what you've got."

"Bastard, don't underestimate me!"

Sumari clenched his back teeth. Though he knew deep down that his raw strength was inferior to his opponent's, with the Dark Silver dagger in hand, he might still have a fighting chance.

He flicked his wrist, sending the Dark Silver dagger flying straight at Mingta's throat like a bolt of silver lightning.

Mingta's pupils contracted slightly as he sensed the threat coming from the dagger.

He twisted aside, and the silver flash grazed his shoulder armor before striking the wall and leaving a deep crack.

"Heh, aren't you supposed to be so capable? Stop dodging if you've got the guts!"

Sumari sneered, continuing to control the dagger with both hands. The silver flash curved through the air and doubled back, stabbing toward Mingta's back once again.

Mingta sidestepped again, and the dagger's tip hit nothing once more.

As he watched Mingta keep dodging, the mockery in Sumari's eyes grew stronger.

But just as the dagger doubled back for the third time, a Shadow-Eater Corps soldier suddenly dropped from the shadows on the ceiling and bit down on the Dark Silver dagger's blade.

The Dark Silver dagger let out a mournful hum, then vanished with the Shadow-Eater Corps soldier into the shadow cast by the wall.

"What?!!"

Sumari's body jolted, and he staggered half a step.

To his horror, he discovered that his connection to the Dark Silver dagger had been completely severed.

Before he could figure out what had happened, an iron fist encased in dark, heavy armor slammed into his face.

"Argh!"

Sumari flew backward like a cannonball, his back crashing into the wall deep inside the suite and covering the entire wall in spiderweb cracks.

He slid down the wall onto the floor, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth as stars danced before his eyes.

Then Mingta flashed in front of him and rained down heavy punches.

Sumari drifted in and out of consciousness.

Finally, as though he had beaten him enough, Mingta gathered a ball of dark energy in his palm and injected it into Sumari's body.

In an instant, Sumari discovered that his genes had been sealed off. He could not even mobilize dark energy.

"Let's go. My king is still waiting for you."

Mingta gave a faint snort, then bent down and grabbed one of Sumari's ankles with one hand.

Sumari struggled a couple of times, but it did absolutely nothing.

He could only let Mingta drag him out through the door upside down, head low and feet high, like a dead dog.

Outside, Qin Feng and Tara were taking in the manor's scenery.

Suddenly, Mingta came up to them, dragging Sumari.

"My king, the manor has been cleared."

Mingta bowed slightly and hefted Sumari in front of him.

"This one had some strength. He should be the person you were looking for."

Qin Feng looked down at the bedraggled figure dangling upside down, and the corners of his mouth slowly rose.

"So this is the Ancient Godslayer? He doesn't look like much."

Hearing this, Sumari laboriously raised his head. His eyes, swollen to slits, struggled to focus before he finally made out the young face before him.

"Who exactly are you?"

Sumari's voice was hoarse, a gurgle of bloody froth mixing in his throat.

"Why are you coming after me? Do you know that doing this will anger the Angel Civilization?"

Qin Feng tilted his head, a hint of derision entering his smile.

"Oh? Even now, you're still waving the Angel Civilization's name around to throw your weight about?"

He crouched down to meet the upside-down Sumari's gaze, his voice carrying a breezy mockery. "You're not Hua Ye. Even killing you couldn't spark an uprising among those Male Angels."

"Kaisa might even thank me for getting rid of a major nuisance like you."

At those words, Sumari suddenly stiffened.

Of course he knew how sick Kaisa was of him.

Back when He Xi had sentenced him to exile, Kaisa had considered killing him.

If He Xi had not pleaded for him, he would probably have died long ago.

If someone really killed him now, that King of the Gods would probably applaud.

"No, no, no!"

Sumari struggled violently a couple of times, only for Mingta to tighten his grip.

"Let's talk this out! We're all on the same side. Why fight to the death?"

Although he did not know where Qin Feng and the others had come from, he had sensed fluctuations from Male Angel genes in Qin Feng.

That meant that even if the other man was not a true Male Angel, he was still connected to the Male Angel lineage.

That was why he had decided Qin Feng was one of his own.

Qin Feng's smile faded.

"Who's on the same side as you?"

His tone cooled, carrying undisguised distaste.

Then he changed the subject. "Where's your Dark Silver dagger?"

The corner of Sumari's mouth twitched, and he silently turned to look at Mingta.

Mingta's dark-gold eyes suddenly began darting about. He looked everywhere except at Qin Feng.

"You little bastard!"

Tara stepped forward and slapped Mingta on the back of the head.

"It's not a gold ingot! You think it'll breed if you keep it? Hurry up and hand it over!"

"You've already learned to deceive your superiors and conceal things from your subordinates in this little time? Is that what I taught you?"

The slap sent Mingta staggering forward a step. Rubbing the back of his head, he pouted miserably, but did not dare talk back.

A mighty general of the Shadow-Eater Corps, yet he did not dare so much as fart in Tara's presence.

Then, with a thought from him, it happened.

A Shadow-Eater Corps soldier immediately emerged from the ground with the Dark Silver dagger in his mouth.

Mingta then respectfully handed the dagger to Qin Feng.

Qin Feng toyed with the Dark Silver dagger, a stream of data flashing through his eyes.

After casually placing an encryption lock on it, he handed the dagger to Tara.

"This blade is pretty sharp. Take it for yourself. I've placed access restrictions on it, so it'll be difficult for anyone else to take it."

Tara froze. As he accepted the dagger with both hands, his golden slit pupils visibly lit up.

"My king, aren't you going to use it?"

Tara tightened his grip on the hilt, then looked at Qin Feng with some hesitation.

"No need. I have something better."

Qin Feng waved a hand.

Within his Dark Plane, the Void Greatsword lay quietly.

With that sharp sword in hand, did he still need this little Dark Silver dagger?

He might as well give it to his subordinates to strengthen them.

Had the dagger not been unsuitable for Mingta, he might even have given it back to him.

Unfortunately, Mingta's approach to attacking clearly did not involve finesse.

Now, with the addition of the Dark Silver dagger, Tara's combat strength stood in a class of its own among those with Third Generation Divine Bodies.

After all, he was already an expert in mental power.

With the Dark Silver dagger, he was now a tiger with wings!

"Thank you, my king."

Tara dropped to one knee, holding the dagger horizontally before his chest, his voice carrying a rare solemnity.

Qin Feng waved a hand for him to rise.

Beside them, Mingta had kept his head drooping, his cheeks puffed out as though stuffed with two walnuts.

He stared at the dagger in Tara's hand, his gaze as aggrieved as a big dog that had lost its bone.

He had clearly captured that dagger, yet in the blink of an eye, it had ended up in the commander's pocket.

No, the commander's dagger had ended up in the commander's pocket.

Mingta pouted even harder.

Qin Feng glanced at him and could not help laughing.

"All right, stop sulking."

He walked over and patted Mingta's heavy shoulder armor.

"Next time we get something good, you can pick first."

At that, Mingta instantly straightened, light rekindling in his dark-gold eyes.

"Your general thanks you, my king!"

His voice rang out strong and full, utterly unlike his dejected manner a moment earlier.

Qin Feng turned around and looked again at Sumari, who was still sprawled on the ground.
