Kailong's half-solid, half-insubstantial body visibly stiffened. "Would you fucking disappear if you went two sentences without taking a shot at me?"
Soldier Boy always automatically filtered out other people's verbal attacks. As though nothing had happened, he asked, "I'm no fucking king. If I sign a contract with you, will all of humanity have to suffer the consequences of breaking it too?"

Homelander smiled, looking rather pleased, and gave Soldier Boy a seemingly casual nod.
His meaning was clear: Kailong was right.
"That actually makes a lot of fucking sense." Soldier Boy had to admit he was impressed.
But wasn't endangering all of humanity taking it too far?
Kailong added at just the right moment, "The contract thousands of years ago was signed jointly by many king-level figures, while you're just one person. Perhaps you can only represent the entire United States. I advise you to think it through and not act on impulse, or the ocean will swallow all the land in America."
With his thoughts seen through yet again, Soldier Boy began to suspect Kailong had consumed some kind of mind-reading ability.
He chuckled twice and finally stopped dwelling on the subject.
Everything was clear now.
The greatest potential threat facing them
