Background / History

Transmigration and the Diary System

Zhao Ling physically transmigrates from Blue Star into the Douluo World and spends fifteen years cultivating in remote mountains and forests. His original Martial Soul is an unprecedented attack-type pagoda rather than a support tool like the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda 1 75.

The diary system awakens while he is absorbing a Qian Jun Ant Emperor’s ring under attack from its two companions. Its protective screen prevents their next strike from killing him. After leaving seclusion, he encounters the young Ah Yin—the first character he recognizes from the original story 1 2.

Unknown to Zhao Ling, selected women receive copies of his diary. These copies expose his knowledge of their futures and his private intentions, but their recipients cannot tell him about them 4 8 12.

Suotuo City and Spirit Hall

Initially torn between courting Ah Yin and completing a system assignment to witness Bibi Dong’s meeting with Yu Xiaogang, Zhao Ling brings Ah Yin to Suotuo City. He conceals her transformed Soul Beast identity and introduces himself to Bibi Dong’s group over wine 2 5 8.

His rivalry with Yu Xiaogang escalates into conflict with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. When Yu Xiaogang brings his elder brother Yu Xiaolong to confront him, Zhao Ling severely injures Xiaolong. He subsequently seeks out Liu Erlong to thank her for warning him about the confrontation 30 31.

Zhao Ling’s relationship with Bibi Dong gains Qian Xunji and Qian Daoliu’s approval. He and Ah Yin move into Spirit Hall accommodations, and he participates in an engagement ceremony with both women 40 43.

Heaven Dou Residence and Growing Influence

On his journey toward Heaven Dou Imperial City, Zhao Ling harvests twelve mature immortal-grade herbs from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He marks the valley as Demon-Suppressing Douluo’s private herb garden 47.

Emperor Xue Ye recruits him as an imperial retainer, offering the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, a residence, and an annual salary. In return, Zhao Ling promises to save the infant Xue Qinghe from danger three times; the prince later becomes his adoptive son 53 61.

Zhao Ling recruits Lou Gao and his disciples by showing them Tang Sect hidden-weapon designs. Their manufacturing work becomes a substantial source of income, while selected products are sold to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 97 102 190.

Academy and Clan Maneuvers

Zhao Ling converts Skywater Academy into Blue Tyrant Academy and places its management in the hands of Liu Erlong and his other wives. He also summons Jiang Nannan, Zhang Lexuan, and Meng Hongchen 114.

To divide the Clear Sky Sect, he pays A Xiu to approach Tang Hao and Tang Xiao while imitating Ah Yin. He then exploits the resulting discord and the sect’s deteriorating relationship with its affiliated clans. With Tang Yuehua’s intervention, the Four Affiliated Sects pledge themselves to him 116 117.

His personal interventions also alter the Zhu sisters’ futures. Disguised as an elderly expert, he takes Zhu Zhuyun and Zhu Zhuqing as disciples and persuades their clan and the Star Luo emperor to dissolve their engagements to Dai Weisi and Dai Mubai 132.

New Divine Realm and Family

After transcending Douluo’s cultivation system, Zhao Ling develops his internal spaces into the Eighteen-Realm Spatial Domain. He spends five years in seclusion establishing an unfinished New Divine Realm; on returning, he discovers that three younger daughters have grown up without meeting him 114 153.

He later gives suitable laws to his confidantes and teaches them how to cultivate toward creating their own godhood. He also relocates the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well into the New Divine Realm, where its herbs benefit from abundant spiritual energy 165 174.

Following requests from his partners, Zhao Ling delivers betrothal gifts according to local customs and holds a grand wedding. His hidden-weapon business funds the considerable expense 181 190.

Continental Unification and Departure

Zhao Ling erases Tang San and the Shrek group, destroys the Clear Sky Sect, and supports the continent’s unification under Bibi Dong’s Spirit Hall Empire. He repels interfering deities and recommends standardized writing, carriage tracks, weights, and measures 196.

After Bibi Dong passes the throne to Zhao Ping’an, Zhao Ling brings his family and allies into his domain. It eventually becomes independent of Douluo and evolves into a system of worlds. A mysterious voice then recognizes his connection to the Primordial Main World 196.

Zhao Ling is openly flirtatious, possessive, and determined to pursue multiple women from the original story. He frequently complains, boasts, and makes mocking comparisons in his diary, unaware that its subjects can read them. His confidence in concealing his intentions repeatedly contrasts with how obvious those intentions are to the women around him 12 35 46 91.

He shows practical care for his partners by protecting their identities, supplying defensive weapons, assisting their cultivation, and providing homes. After recognizing that Female Killer has made his partners’ attachment unusually absolute, he concludes that abandoning them would be unforgivable and becomes gentler toward them 31 53 57 91.

That affection coexists with manipulation and brutality. He deceives Ah Rou about knowing her husband, arranges the suppression and alteration of future Xiao Wu’s consciousness and memories, and engineers discord within the Clear Sky Sect. Against enemies, his responses range from public humiliation to complete annihilation 30 81 99 116 196.
