Chapters 1451–1475 Vol. 15 Read

Ch. 1451Fusion

Yu Sheng merged five worlds into a stable but seemingly useless miniature world, then flew toward Demon-Suppressing Pass at greatly increased speed. Old White Ape ordered his forces to withdraw after sensing something approaching on the horizon.

  • Yu Sheng combined the Scroll, Crystal Stone, Mountains and Rivers Bottle, Phoenix Hammer, and Dragon-Patterned Staff to form a small, stable world, but found it had no practical use.
  • Yu Sheng put the new world away and flew toward Demon-Suppressing Pass faster than he had at the Seventh Awakening.
  • Little Red Dragon reported that two Demon Lords and four combined God Race armies were concealed near Dome Pass.
  • Old White Ape worried that Little Red Dragon was too capable to replace and wondered how to make him lose his memory.
  • Old White Ape sensed something on the horizon, then ordered Little Red Dragon to assemble the forces and withdraw immediately.

Ch. 1452We Can't Keep Retreating Forever

Old White Ape abandoned his cautious retreat and ordered the Demon Domain to prepare for war against Yu Sheng. As Yu Sheng broke through the Red Dragon Clan Chief’s flames and struck Zhu Yan, Old White Ape ordered weaker Demon Beasts to withdraw and called for ranged attacks.

  • Little Red Dragon left, and Old White Ape changed his mind about yielding to unforeseen threats.
  • Old White Ape ordered preparations for war and declared that the Demon Domain would stop Yu Sheng, the Human Race’s Ink Pavilion Head.
  • Old White Ape ordered the Red Dragon Clan Chief and Zhuyan Clan Chief to hold the line until the other Demon Lords arrived, threatening execution for anyone who faltered.
  • Zhuyan enlarged himself and attacked Yu Sheng, while the Red Dragon Clan Chief spread a wall of flames in Yu Sheng’s path.
  • Yu Sheng burst through the flames and struck Zhu Yan with his giant hammer, forcing him back several steps.
  • Old White Ape ordered Demon Beasts below Demon King to retreat and Demon Kings to attack from range.

Ch. 1453Was this the power of a Demon Lord?

Yu Sheng tested his strength against Zhu Yan and the Red Dragon Clan Chief, concluding that he was powerful among Demon Lords but could still be injured by their strongest attacks. He then concealed his aura and struck Zhu Yan again, leaving it bleeding from the shoulder.

  • Old White Ape ordered the low-level demon beasts to retreat as the Demon Kings formed a net of demon aura, but Yu Sheng scattered it and charged Zhu Yan.
  • Yu Sheng smashed Zhu Yan’s crossed arms with his hammer, and Zhu Yan retaliated with a homing beam from the eye on its chest.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief sent a fiery phoenix at Yu Sheng, but the Mountains and Rivers Bottle and another Awakening Object protected him from the attacks.
  • Yu Sheng assessed his strength and injuries, then drew the Dragon-Patterned Staff and concealed his aura.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief fled as Yu Sheng appeared above Zhu Yan and struck its shoulder with the Giant Hammer, drawing blood.

Ch. 1454Your battlefield should be here

Yu Sheng overpowered the Red Dragon Clan Chief and the Zhuyan Clan Chief, then shifted his attack to the Demon Kings as reinforcements approached. He continued slaughtering the beast horde while the Zhuyan Clan Chief could only accuse him of breaking the laws of war.

  • Old White Ape threatened the Red Dragon Clan Chief into intervening before Yu Sheng could kill the Zhuyan Clan Chief.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief knocked Yu Sheng’s hammer aside, but Yu Sheng adapted to his Eighth Awakening and drove both Demon Lords onto the defensive.
  • Three nearby Demon Lords approached, and Yu Sheng vanished into the Demon Kings’ formation, killing them in a sudden assault.
  • The Zhuyan Clan Chief and the Red Dragon Clan Chief chased Yu Sheng as he continued slaughtering the beast horde.
  • The Zhuyan Clan Chief accused Yu Sheng of violating the laws of war, but Yu Sheng asked whether he would fight him one-on-one, leaving the Demon Lord unable to answer.

Ch. 1455A qualified... Ink Pavilion Head

Yu Sheng fought through the Demon Beasts’ blockade but turned toward the Red Dragon Clan’s territory instead of returning to Demon-Suppressing Pass, hoping to bring Army-Breaker back with him. Old White Ape ordered the Demon Lords to encircle and kill Yu Sheng, while Yu Mo recognized that Yu Sheng was learning to act as a qualified Ink Pavilion Head.

  • Zhu Yan ordered a newly arrived Demon Lord to stop Yu Sheng, but Yu Sheng pierced its demon-aura claw and slashed it across the waist.
  • Yu Sheng turned toward the Red Dragon Clan’s territory, and Little Red Dragon scattered his forces into small groups to flee.
  • Old White Ape ordered the Demon Beasts to reform their blockade and the Demon Lords to encircle and kill Yu Sheng, warning that any human rescue force would be wiped out.
  • At Demon-Suppressing Pass, Yuan Qingshan watched the battle as the Demon Lords gradually narrowed the space Yu Sheng could move in.
  • In Deep Mountain, Zhong Yushu reported Yu Sheng’s movements to Yu Mo, who realized Yu Sheng was trying to bring Army-Breaker back and praised him for learning to be a qualified Ink Pavilion Head.

Ch. 1456Follow the Young Pavilion Master into Battle in the Demon Domain

Yu Mo realized Yu Sheng was waiting for Human Race reinforcements in the Demon Domain and ordered Zhong Yushu to lead fighters to his aid. As reinforcements rushed out from Demon-Suppressing Pass, Zhao Zicheng tried to join them but was ordered to stay and guard the city.

  • Yu Mo concluded that Yu Sheng was waiting for Human Race reinforcements and urged Zhong Yushu to act before Yu Sheng lost faith in the Human Race.
  • Zhong Yushu rallied the Human Race’s Eighth Awakening fighters and charged toward the Demon Domain to support Yu Sheng.
  • Yuan Qingshan and Qi Changshan left Demon-Suppressing Pass to engage a God Race Clan Chief, while several Seventh Awakening fighters also charged out after pretending they had been called.
  • Zhao Zicheng tried to persuade the remaining Sixth Awakening fighters to join the battle, but a Reserve Corps officer ordered them to remain and guard Demon-Suppressing Pass.

Ch. 1457Try punching me again?

Zhao Zicheng reflected on falling behind Yu Sheng and tried to restart his cultivation by asking Sun Wen to hit him. Sun Wen’s attacks had no effect, but A Tai’s casual punch sent Zhao Zicheng sprawling and made his energy surge, leaving Zhao eager to test A Tai again.

  • Sun Wen emerged from hiding, offered to help defend the city, and asked for someone to fly him back, but the others ignored him.
  • Sun Wen scolded Zhao Zicheng and the others for lagging behind Yu Sheng, and Zhao Zicheng kicked him with Big White joining in.
  • Zhao Zicheng brooded over how marriage had slowed his cultivation and decided he needed to reach the seventh awakening.
  • Zhao asked Sun Wen to hit him, but Sun Wen’s blows failed to move him and left Sun Wen weeping.
  • A Tai casually punched Zhao, knocking him down and making his energy surge, so Zhao summoned his sandbag and asked A Tai to punch him again.

Ch. 1458Freaks

A Tai’s strength left Zhao Zicheng despairing over how far his peers had surpassed him, while Xin Yongfeng finally left Skyvault Ravine. At the ravine, Zhong Yushu and other human fighters confronted Old White Ape to defend Yu Sheng, and the conflict escalated as more Ink Pavilion elders arrived.

  • A Tai shattered Zhao Zicheng’s sandbag with one punch, then admitted he had not used his full strength.
  • Zhao Zicheng lamented that he could barely beat anyone in the 140th Cohort, while Sun Wen teased him about becoming the weakest after his next awakening.
  • Xin Yongfeng left Skyvault Ravine disguised as a gray bird after Ji Hong warned him that the Demon God might detect him.
  • Zhong Yushu told Old White Ape that the Human Race would protect Yu Sheng, and Old White Ape threatened to kill more eighth-awakening fighters.
  • Several Demon Lords moved to face the five human eighth-awakening fighters, and seventh-awakening elders arrived cursing the demons for bullying their Ink Pavilion Head.

Ch. 1459Attitude

Yu Mo sent Confucian Scholar to order Demon-Suppressing Pass’s soldiers to join the fight if Zhong Yushu and the others fell behind, hoping to show Yu Sheng the human race’s willingness to protect him. As reinforcements rushed to the battlefield and drew enemies away from Yu Sheng, Yu Mo remained on the mountain, still unable to understand why the Demon Domain was so determined to keep Yu Sheng there.

  • The human fighters attacked Old White Ape to draw a Demon Lord away from Yu Sheng, and another Demon Lord left the pursuit to confront them.
  • Yu Mo concluded that Yu Sheng was testing the human race’s attitude and ordered Confucian Scholar to command the soldiers to fight if Zhong Yushu and the others were disadvantaged.
  • Confucian Scholar relayed the order, and Demon-Suppressing Pass’s soldiers prepared to march out.
  • Eighth Awakening experts and other human reinforcements arrived at Demon-Suppressing Pass and joined the distant battle, drawing attacks away from Yu Sheng.
  • Yu Mo continued pondering why the Demon Domain was risking another fight to keep Yu Sheng there, then closed his eyes as he remained on the mountaintop.

Ch. 1460The Dark World Descends

Yu Sheng trapped eight Demon Lords in his Dark World, using its darkness and concealment to keep them occupied while he targeted other enemies. The Red Dragon Clan Chief realized the deception and ordered the Demon Lords to break the laws world before human reinforcements could arrive.

  • Yu Sheng stopped fleeing and activated the Dragon-Patterned Staff’s Dark World around the eight pursuing Demon Lords.
  • The Demon Lords struggled to move and lost sight of Yu Sheng, so the Zhuyan Clan Chief urged them to stay together and wait for him to attack.
  • Yu Sheng appeared briefly at regular intervals, leading the Zhuyan Clan Chief to believe his concealment had a time limit.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief realized Yu Sheng was holding them in the Dark World to attack Demon Lords fighting humans outside, while also disrupting their senses and communication.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief ordered the Demon Lords to attack together and break the laws world before human Eighth Awakening fighters could surround them.

Ch. 1461What World Was This Now?

Yu Sheng trapped the Demon Lords in his Water World after they escaped his first world, prompting the Red Dragon Clan Chief to call for the Demon God to kill him. The Demon God appeared but held back as Yuan Qingshan threatened an all-out war, leaving both sides facing off.

  • The Demon Lords broke out of Yu Sheng's dark world and saw that a Demon Lord had self-detonated while Yu Sheng, Yuan Qingshan, and another Eighth Awakening fighter hunted it.
  • Yu Sheng trapped the Red Dragon Clan Chief and the other Demon Lords in his Water World, which drained their demon aura.
  • The Red Dragon Clan Chief concluded that Yu Sheng threatened the Demon Domain and called on the Demon God to kill him, urging it to ignore the agreement.
  • Old White Ape watched from a distance while Yuan Qingshan warned that the Human Race would send every Ninth Awakening fighter to war if the Demon God attacked.
  • The Demon God appeared in the sky with a net of lightning but did not strike, and Yuan Qingshan stood his ground as the Red Dragon Clan Chief continued calling for action.

Ch. 1462The value of existence

Yu Mo realized he could not control the war and prayed for Yu Sheng’s safe return as Yu Sheng’s group prepared to withdraw. Yuan Qingshan then chose to turn back and save the Army-Breaker recruits, asking Yu Sheng whether he would risk his life to help them.

  • Yu Mo admitted that his plans and intelligence were powerless against the Demon God and prayed for Yu Sheng to return safely.
  • Yuan Qingshan ordered Yu Sheng to retreat, and the fighting stopped as the Human Race experts gathered around him.
  • Old White Ape allowed Yu Sheng and the others to leave, saying he had no reason to fight them to mutual destruction.
  • Yu Sheng asked Yuan Qingshan whether they were going to save the recruits.
  • Yuan Qingshan said the Human Race would risk even an Eighth Awakening expert to save one ordinary person, then asked Yu Sheng if he would risk his life to save the recruits.

Ch. 1463Thunderstorm

Yu Sheng and the Eighth Awakening elders refused to retreat, prompting Old White Ape to ask the Demon God to intervene by framing the fight as an internal matter of the Demon Domain. Meanwhile, Yu Mo and Confucian Scholar discussed the plan’s risks, and the chapter ended with the Demon God’s lightning attack striking the elders’ defenses.

  • Zhong Yushu rallied the elders to keep fighting until Army-Breaker returned, and Old White Ape asked the Demon God to take action, claiming the battle did not violate the treaty.
  • In Deep Mountain, Yu Mo asked Confucian Scholar whether Old White Ape had said the battle had nothing to do with the treaty, and Confucian Scholar confirmed it before disappearing.
  • Yuan Qingshan warned Yu Sheng to retreat if the elders died, but Yu Sheng kept watching the Demon God.
  • The Demon God sent down a rain of lightning arrows, and an Eighth Awakening elder spread golden wings to shield the group as the blows battered the defense.

Ch. 1464Human Race War God

Zhong Yushu and the Eighth Awakening experts tried to protect Yu Sheng from the Demon God, while the Reserve Corps lent Zhong Yushu its army soul. Zhong Yushu destroyed the Demon God’s lightning dragon, but the Demon God attacked personally, and Zhong Yushu urged Yu Sheng to escape.

  • The Demon God’s lightning shattered Old Man’s wings, then overwhelmed the energy shield raised by Zhong Yushu and the other Eighth Awakening experts.
  • Zhong Yushu told Yu Sheng that the elders would stay behind to uphold the Ink Pavilion’s rules and give him a chance to survive and lead the Human Race.
  • Zhong Yushu called on the Reserve Corps, whose soldiers sent their army soul to him before he charged the lightning dragon and shattered it with his spear.
  • The Demon God dismissed the army soul as an unorthodox trick and summoned an enormous claw to attack Zhong Yushu and the others.
  • Zhong Yushu faced the claw without fear and again ordered Yu Sheng to fall back, telling him that the Human Race needed him to live.

Ch. 1465How About Trying to Kill Me?

Yu Sheng watched Zhong Yushu and the others face the Demon God while Old White Ape tried to persuade him to attack. Old White Ape explained that he wanted to defeat the Human Race in a way that would make the victory unforgettable, as the battle above continued.

  • Zhong Yushu and the others summoned their Awakening Objects and prepared to face the Demon God's enormous claw as Yu Sheng retreated.
  • Old White Ape blocked Yu Sheng's path and urged him to stay and watch the battle, but Yu Sheng showed no interest in fighting him.
  • Old White Ape repeatedly offered Yu Sheng chances to kill him and revealed that he knew Yu Mo had placed his hopes in Yu Sheng.
  • Yu Sheng guessed that Old White Ape wanted a spectacular victory over the Human Race, and Old White Ape admitted that defeating them through intelligence alone would be too boring for him.

Ch. 1466Grand feast

Old White Ape revealed to Yu Sheng that he had engineered the conflict to stage a grand final battle and wanted Yu Sheng to become strong enough to challenge him. Yu Sheng refused to fight, while the Human Race’s Eighth Awakening fighters neared collapse and Old White Ape waited for Yu Mo’s reinforcements.

  • Old White Ape explained that he had protected heroes such as Zhong Yushu, Yuan Qingshan, and Qi Changshan so he could defeat them himself in a carefully staged final battle.
  • Old White Ape told Yu Sheng he wanted to outscheme Yu Mo and Ji Hong, then defeat Yu Sheng after he grew strong enough to make the victory impressive.
  • Yu Sheng refused to fight, and when Old White Ape threatened to kill him, Yu Sheng turned his back and accepted the threat.
  • Old White Ape urged Yu Sheng to grow stronger and offered him resources, but Yu Sheng ignored him.
  • As the Demon God attacked and the Human Race’s Eighth Awakening fighters neared collapse, Old White Ape cursed the delay in Yu Mo’s reinforcements and urged the fighters to attack.

Ch. 1467I shall become an immortal

Old White Ape told Yu Sheng that everything had been arranged and that Army-Breaker would die regardless of what happened. As Confucian Scholar fought the Demon God to protect Zhong Yushu, Yu Sheng insisted that Army-Breaker would become very strong in the future.

  • Old White Ape told Yu Sheng how much he had regretted Chu Yu's death and said he had arranged everything for the coming grand feast.
  • Confucian Scholar shielded Zhong Yushu and attacked the Demon God with characters written in midair.
  • Confucian Scholar's powerful character was shattered by the Demon God, who then struck at him with a huge tail.
  • Confucian Scholar fled the Demon God's attack while Old White Ape watched and remarked that he was an unusual fighter.
  • Yu Sheng told Old White Ape that Army-Breaker would become very strong, but Old White Ape replied that Army-Breaker would die that day.

Ch. 1468Best Director

Old White Ape explained that he wanted the final battle to become a spectacle whose unknown outcome mattered less to him than directing and starring in it. As he watched a Demon God battle Yu Sheng’s allies, Yu Sanshui debated whether to risk joining the fight.

  • Old White Ape offered to trade a Demon God for Army-Breaker and proposed keeping another flashy fighter alive to raise his awakening and kill later.
  • Yu Sheng rejected Old White Ape’s claims, while Old White Ape said he welcomed the final battle’s uncertainty and cared most about the spectacle and his role in it.
  • Old White Ape wondered why the Human Race’s other ninth awakenings had not arrived and urged Yu Sheng to chat, then offered to let Army-Breaker go if Yu Sheng fought him.
  • Yu Sheng agreed to Old White Ape’s proposal, and Old White Ape returned to watching the battle.
  • Yu Sanshui watched from a tree and weighed sneaking into the fight against the risk of an ambush, even as he worried that others would die if he stayed out.

Ch. 1469Immortal Descent

Yu Sanshui took advantage of the Confucian Scholar’s apparent immortal descent to sneak up on the Red Dragon Demon God and strike him. He left the Demon God dazed and called for the hidden fighters to join the attack.

  • Yu Sanshui psyched himself up by deciding he was risking his life for his own future, then crept toward the Demon God.
  • The Confucian Scholar realized he was being bullied in his own dream and used blood-red writing and refracted sunlight to stage an apparent immortal descent.
  • The Demon God saw through the spectacle, destroyed the writing, and challenged the Confucian Scholar to summon a real immortal.
  • Yu Sanshui appeared behind the Demon God, claimed to be an immortal, and struck him with a pitch-black Awakening Object.
  • Yu Sanshui hit the dazed Demon God again and shouted for the hidden fighters to attack.

Ch. 1470Stab It

Yu Sanshui, Zhong Yushu, and the Confucian Scholar tried to keep the Red Dragon Demon God disoriented while finding a way through his defenses. As the Demon Beasts charged to aid their leader, the Human Race fighters held them back, and Zhong Yushu worked to pry open the demon’s mouth.

  • Zhong Yushu charged the dazed Red Dragon Demon God and thrust his spear between the demon’s brows, but the demon’s roar sent him flying.
  • Yu Sanshui hammered the Red Dragon Demon God’s head and directed Zhong Yushu and the Confucian Scholar to attack vulnerable spots while Human Race fighters blocked the arriving Demon Beasts.
  • Zhong Yushu’s spear barely pierced the demon’s defenses, and the Red Dragon Demon God began recovering his awareness.
  • When the demon tried to roar, Zhong Yushu aimed his spear into its mouth, but the demon snapped its jaws shut and only took a small cut on its chin.
  • The Confucian Scholar pried the demon’s jaws apart slightly while convincing himself he was a strongman, and Zhong Yushu wedged his spearhead into the mouth to lever it open.
  • Yu Sanshui told the Confucian Scholar to stop muttering and write inside the Red Dragon Demon God’s mouth.

Ch. 1471Weren't Immortals Supposed to Be Like This?

Zhong Yushu and the Confucian Scholar wounded the Red Dragon Demon God while Yu Sanshui’s awakening object held it in place. When Yu Sanshui called for a retreat, Zhong Yushu salvaged the Demon God’s blood and ordered two fighters to guard it.

  • Zhong Yushu urged the Confucian Scholar to attack the Red Dragon Demon God, and the Confucian Scholar wounded it by writing a character in the air.
  • Yu Sanshui warned that his control would last only a few more seconds as he continued hammering the thrashing Demon God.
  • Zhong Yushu challenged the Confucian Scholar for reciting unnecessary lines, and the Confucian Scholar stopped reciting and attacked more efficiently.
  • Yu Sanshui called for a retreat, and Zhong Yushu and the Confucian Scholar fled as the Red Dragon Demon God roared in pain.
  • Zhong Yushu wrung Demon God blood from his clothes into a hollowed rock and ordered two Seventh Awakening fighters to guard it.

Ch. 1472A Demon God Really Could Take a Beating

Old White Ape kept Yu Sheng from joining the battle while the demon beasts and Demon Lords stalled around the Red Dragon Demon God. After emerging from the Hundun State, the wounded Red Dragon Demon God attacked Yu Sanshui, who evaded his tail but was trapped by lightning and rain.

  • Old White Ape shielded Yu Sheng and held back the demon beasts while criticizing their schemes and pretending to regret his lost cultivation.
  • Old White Ape asked Yu Sheng about the Heavenly Race inheritance and the path beyond the ninth awakening, and Yu Sheng said he had received nothing.
  • The Demon Lords held back their attacks, hoping to seize the Red Dragon Demon God's place or devour his demon core.
  • The wounded Red Dragon Demon God emerged from the Hundun State and roared at Yu Sanshui before sweeping his tail at him.
  • Yu Sanshui stepped a li away to evade the attack, but the Red Dragon Demon God followed and trapped him with lightning and rain.

Ch. 1473Demon God Blood Really Was Something

Yu Sanshui, Zhong Yushu, and the Confucian Scholar fought the Red Dragon Demon God, with Yu Sanshui struggling to hold it back as the others joined in. Zhong Yushu drank from its wounds for strength and lamented the blood going to waste as the demon god bled across the battlefield.

  • The Red Dragon Demon God furiously attacked Yu Sanshui, who intercepted its blows but called Zhong Yushu and the Confucian Scholar for help.
  • Zhong Yushu charged the demon god with his Spear while the Confucian Scholar wrote characters in the air to hinder it.

  • Zhong Yushu savored the nourishing Demon God blood and lamented the blood spilling from the demon god’s many wounds.

Ch. 1474Wasn't I Just Afraid of Wasting It?

Old White Ape criticized the humans for not fighting with enough desperation and warned the Demon Lords that the other Demon Gods would arrive in five minutes. Under that pressure, Yu Sanshui and Zhong Yushu intensified their assault on the Red Dragon Demon God, which began to weaken and grow afraid.

  • Old White Ape complained that Yu Sanshui and Zhong Yushu were ruining the grand feast's intended final battle and told Yu Sheng to make Yu Sanshui fight with more passion.
  • Old White Ape warned the Demon Lords that they would face consequences when the Demon God returned, prompting the Red Dragon Clan Chief to attack desperately and strain the human blockade.
  • Old White Ape shouted that the other Demon Gods would arrive within five minutes and that Yu Sanshui would die if they did not win before then.
  • Yu Sanshui abandoned his cautious strategy and fought the Red Dragon Demon God recklessly, while he cursed Zhong Yushu for drinking blood instead of helping kill it.
  • Zhong Yushu charged back into battle, and within a minute the Red Dragon Demon God's injuries doubled, its strength declined, and fear appeared in its eyes.

Ch. 1475Dig when I tell you to

Yu Sanshui broke the Red Dragon Demon God’s fighting spirit and forced it to flee, while Zhong Yushu used the chaos to gather Demon God bloodstained soil. After the others withdrew, Zhong Yushu stayed behind to confront Old White Ape over Yu Sheng, who asked him to return and leave the matter to him.

  • The Red Dragon Demon God’s fear overcame its anger, and it fled as Yu Sanshui threatened to kill it.
  • Yu Sanshui invoked Black Flood Dragon’s death to terrify the Red Dragon Demon God and ordered the others to retreat.
  • Zhong Yushu stopped Confucian Scholar from joining the fight and enlisted him to dig up soil stained with Demon God blood.
  • The Eighth Awakening fighters gathered, while the Seventh Awakening fighters carried bloodied rocks toward Demon-Suppressing Pass as the Demon Lords cleared their path.
  • After the others left, Zhong Yushu turned his spear on Old White Ape and demanded to know whether he would release Yu Sheng.
  • Yu Sheng asked Zhong Yushu to head back, saying he would handle the matter himself.
