Lu You then asked Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto why the Soul Society had become involved, and Yamamoto explained that the Holy Grail’s connection to it might threaten the Soul King Palace and the Three Realms.

• Aizen explained that the Holy Grail drew on the deaths of fourteen Servants to reach Root Magecraft and ordered it to open a passage to the Soul King Palace and repair his Hōgyoku.
