Yoriichi turned to look at Ichigo.
"Yeah, family."
Ichigo gripped the Substitute Badge, his expression growing uglier.
He seemed to want to explain something, but the bell for class had already rung beyond the rooftop.
Ichigo glanced back at the iron door and scratched his head in irritation.
"It's complicated. I can't explain it in a sentence or two."
"Complicated?"
"Let's wait until lunch."
Ichigo put the Substitute Badge into his pocket and said seriously, "I'll bring Chad and the others over after class. We'll tell you together then."
Yoriichi nodded.
"All right."
Ichigo looked at him and asked uncertainly, "Where are you going?"
"I'll wait here for you."
"There are still two classes before lunch."
"That's fine."
Yoriichi sat down against the railing and closed his eyes.
Ichigo fell silent for a few seconds.
This guy hadn't come to school in so long, and now that he was finally back, he was planning to spend two hours basking in the sun on the rooftop.
For some reason, Ichigo wasn't surprised at all.
"Wait here, then. I'll come after class."
