A white light flashed.
Supporting the unconscious Ichigo, Yoriichi stepped out of the Senkaimon.
Urahara was already waiting outside.
He first glanced at the unconscious Ichigo, then looked at Yoriichi, whose clothes were mostly torn and whose shoulder still bore a wound. The smile on his face stiffened a little.
"Yoriichi."
"Hmm?"
"I only asked you to train with Mr. Ichigo, not tear down the Dangai."
Isshin nodded in agreement beside him.
"Exactly."
"Once these two start fighting, they can't hear a word anyone says. I nearly got buried in there along with them."
Yoriichi thought for a moment.
"Once we started fighting, I didn't pay much attention to anything else."
A vein bulged on Isshin's forehead.
He certainly made it sound easy.
It was the Dangai they had punched through.
Urahara opened his paper fan, hiding the corners of his mouth.
"You'd better start thinking about how you'll explain this when you return to the Soul Society, Yoriichi."
"You can't get through the Captain-Commander's damage report by just writing a few casual lines, you know."
Yoriichi stiffened.
He looked down at the unconscious Ichigo and felt that the battle hadn't been quite so satisfying after all.
Compared to fighting, writing reports was clearly more troublesome.
Besides, the Captain-Commander certainly wouldn't accept an explanation like "once we started fighting, I didn't pay much attention to anything else."
At that thought, Yoriichi's head throbbed.
He laid Ichigo on the mattress prepared for him and changed the subject quite naturally.
"What do we do about Ichigo now?"
Urahara saw through him but didn't press the matter.
"Wait."
He crouched beside Ichigo and checked the state of his soul.
"Mr. Ichigo's Soul Reaper powers have fallen completely dormant. There's nothing else wrong with his body. Once he wakes up, we can move on
