It wasn't difficult. A small accident, a scrap of information—that was enough.

After that, it was up to them to investigate.

To make the whole act convincing, Tetsu no Sosuke had been kept in the dark at first. Honmyo Yutaro had no authority to tell him anything. Only after he sent word by Kasugai Crow did Ubuyashiki Kagaya tell Sosuke what was happening.

The letter explained a great deal, but it did not tell Sosuke how many Demon Hunters had been stationed inside the prison.

Sosuke didn't ask.

He had dealt with Ubuyashiki Kagaya long enough to know the man would leave nothing to chance. Since Kagaya had made his arrangements, Sosuke only needed to play the bait.

Sosuke had spotted something unusual about Honmyo Yutaro himself. The way Yutaro took a beating from a group while making sure no blows struck his vital points was not something an ordinary person could do.

When ordinary people got beaten, they either dodged every blow or took every hit.

Dodging only certain attacks meant Yutaro was hiding something. After all, if he could choose which blows to evade, wouldn't defending himself and striking back be even easier?

So when Honmyo Yutaro pulled the Sunflare Hammer from beneath the bed today and tossed it to Sosuke, Sosuke wasn't surprised in the least.

Outside, the sound of a blade scraping against the prison doors drew closer and closer. Some impatient prisoners had already begun shouting curses.

Their voices soon fell silent. Whether a demon had killed them or the Demon Hunters had restrained them, Sosuke couldn't tell.

Yutaro saw that Sosuke was in no hurry, so he stayed calm too.

He trusted the Hammer Pillar's judgment.

Sosuke glanced at him twice before he could stop himself from asking, "Is your name really Honmyo Yutaro?"
