As he trained and began working with Electrolux, Wang Shaojie brought the Imperial Family Inspection Team to arrest him, leaving Lu Ren in golden handcuffs with his Soul Power suppressed.

• Lu Ren robbed Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, and Tang Ya in the Star Dou Great Forest, then entered Shrek in Xu Sanshi’s uniform and exposed Wang Dong’er’s disguise before leaving for the Sun Moon Empire.
• Lu Ren persuaded Jing Hongchen to admit him to the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy and agreed to help it defeat Shrek in exchange for a chance at a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone.
• Lu Ren defeated Xia Xuanchen, Xiao Hongchen, Meng Hongchen, dozens of academy elites, and Ji Juechen in Jing Hongchen’s public challenge.
• Jing Hongchen arranged protection and resources for Lu Ren, while Shrek’s Mu En and Xuan Zi discussed how to address Lu Ren’s poor impression of their academy.
• Electrolux awakened in Lu Ren’s Sea of Consciousness, taught him to control Cursed Energy, and agreed to coexist with him as Lu Ren planned to pursue the Ice Empress.

Lu Ren defended his place at the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, bound Xuan Zi to a tournament wager, and began destroying Holy Spirit Cult strongholds in Mingdu. He freed Nana and eight other survivors, then set them to building an intelligence network under his command.

• Lu Ren defeated Xu Mochén’s Inspection Team and its Level 7 Soul Engineer, then explained his Binding Vows and permanent sacrifice of his first two Soul Skills to Jing Hongchen.
• Lu Ren refused Xuan Zi’s offer to join Shrek and sealed a wager with him: Shrek would give Lu Ren a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone if Sun Moon won, while Lu Ren would join Shrek if it lost.
• Xuan Zi tried to take Lu Ren to Shrek, but Lu Ren summoned a sea of blood to evade him and alerted Jing Hongchen, then began studying necromancy with Electrolux.
• Lu Ren left the academy with Ji Juechen and led him to a Holy Spirit Cult base, where Lu Ren killed the Soul Saint with Malevolent Shrine and Ji Juechen defeated two Soul Emperors.
• Lu Ren freed the souls trapped in a Soul Pearl, gaining a level of Soul Power, and learned that the survivors’ leader, Nana, was his fellow academy student.
• Lu Ren recruited Nana and eight other survivors, gave them money and a Communication Soul Tool, and tasked them with building an intelligence network in Mingdu.

Lu Ren and Ji Juechen destroyed Holy Spirit Cult strongholds, and Lu Ren rose to Soul King while gaining new Cursed Techniques. After finding and protecting Ye Guyi, Lu Ren brought her to the Ordinary Alliance and demanded its support, ending in a challenge to its Level 9 Soul Engineer.

• Lu Ren and Ji Juechen destroyed eight Holy Spirit Cult strongholds, while Lu Ren rescued captives and advanced to level fifty.
• Lu Ren broke through to the Soul King realm, gained Cursed Speech, and learned from Electrolux that his brain was a powerful body Martial Soul.
• Lu Ren secretly healed Ji Juechen, tested Cursed Speech on him, and learned from Nana that the Xishui Alliance was searching for holy-attribute Soul Masters.
• Lu Ren tracked Ye Guyi through Mingdu, stopped her from fleeing, and persuaded her to work with him against the Xishui Alliance.
• Two Evil Soul Master Soul Saints attacked Lu Ren’s courtyard, but Lu Ren defeated and captured them for Ye Guyi’s sake.
• Lu Ren took Ye Guyi and Ji Juechen to the Ordinary Alliance headquarters, where Shangguan Wei’er heard his offer to help in exchange for benefits.
• Lu Ren asked Shangguan Wei’er to let Ye Guyi follow him and provide the alliance’s assistance, then challenged its Level 9 Soul Engineer after Shangguan Wei’er refused to hand Ye Guyi over easily.

Lu Ren built alliances, fought off Shrek and the Body Sect, and strengthened his cursed abilities while protecting his companions. After months of training and intelligence work, he traveled to the Far North and offered the trapped Ice Empress an equal partnership.

• Lu Ren secured Shangguan Wei'er’s cooperation, then gained the Aodu Chamber of Commerce’s support and brought Ye Guyi and Ji Juechen into his growing faction.
• Lu Ren fought Long Aotian and then held off Xuan Zi with Cursed Speech and Blood River Nine-Phase Life, forcing Xuan Zi to flee before Mingdu’s forces arrived.
• Lu Ren learned Unity of Heaven and Man from Long Aotian and condensed a cursed energy Soul Core, gaining Projection Sorcery and greatly boosting his spiritual power.
• Lu Ren traveled to the Jingyang Mountain Range with Ji Juechen, Jing Ziyan, Xiao Hongchen, and Meng Hongchen, where he helped Xiao Hongchen obtain a Golden Toad Soul Ring and Soul Bone.
• Lu Ren revealed his blood-based powers to Zhang Peng, cured him after poisoning him, and persuaded him to help protect Lu Ren and prevent Shrek from breaking its tournament wager.
